Yearly posting?

I'm wondering if perhaps I should stick to blogging once a year. That's been the standard for the past few posts. ;-)

... which brings up an interesting point about life and busy-ness. It does seem like the past number of years have just completely gone rushing by. I am interested in slowing down -- at the same time, I know my propensity to become bored with the mundane.

In the back of my mind and imagination, there's a little cafe/coffee shop that needs to be built... perhaps in Chattanooga, TN. There's an art gallery that also needs to be put together. And, let's not forget about the apartments to round out a nice mix of urban living.

Of course, there is this issue of funding my dream...

To be continued?

My blog is...

sooooo forgotten. Tragic.

I should revisit this sometime...

Breaking silence with pictures!

I've been a bit shocking with the silence on this blog, and much of that has been due to busy work travel over the past few months. In honor of all the traveling, I'll share a few pictures of things I've discovered on recent journeys.

Drip, drip, drip...

On the way to Singapore from Los Angeles (16.5 hours), I decided to watch a few movies. Among them was "Amazing Grace", a movie that I had heard a few good things about. Since I had not seen as much as a preview, it never really struck the chords of my interest enough to venture to the theater or rent the DVD.

Fortunately for me, I had the time to watch the film this past week. It portrays the life of William Wiberforce and his efforts at leading the parliamentary campaign against the slave trade. Much of the debate that goes on in "Wilber's" own mind surrounds his desire to do the work of God and his placement as a person of influence in the Parliament. It's actually really compelling, and many of the conversations that were had really spoke to me. One of my favorite dialogue exchanges in the movie was between Wilber and a preacher confidant/mentor. I grabbed my computer and typed a bit to share their dramatized words:

Preacher: So, what do you want with an old preacher?

Wilberforce: I’m here to seek your advice.

Preacher: When you were a child, you used to ask God for advice.

Wilderforce: Then I grew up and grew foolish.

Preacher: And now?

Wilberforce: Now, slowly, my faith is returning.

Preacher: How slowly?

Wilberforce: No bolts of lightning.

Preacher: God sometimes does His work with gentle drizzle, not storms. Drip, drip, drip…

A couple thousand words

expressed in pictures. Spain is great! Here's the resort that I'm sleeping at in the evening:

And here's the beach I get to hang out on during the day:

The break has been great, and it's only the first couple of days. I've still got another six days to play around. Good times! Oh, and it's free. ;-)

A video I've been enjoying.

This is a Kiwi friend... that I've not talked to in ages, but she's lovely.

Enjoy!
