Express yourself
I was recently inspired by my "new blog friend" Sarah to paint a bit. I took some time out on Saturday and Sunday to get a painting started. It's acrylic on a long narrow piece of plywood (approx 9" x 4'6")... I left the piece in Chattanooga, and I assume I'll just slowly complete the painting as I travel up there a couple of times each month. It should be a fun project to work on for a while!
Here's a peek into what I have just barely started. This is the uppermost portion of the plywood, and the white section is gesso that I've painted on there. It will eventually be covered with color. I'm calling this "Creation"...
I've never claimed to be a great painter, but we've all got a little artist in us. Part of what makes us humans is that we have the ability to create... and I think it's important to express creativity.
How do you express yourself?
Do you sometimes feel "compelled" to make things or communicate ideas in creative ways?
Do you think that the creative process is important? If yes/no, why?
