I know this picture is kind of bizarre, but really, these are two of my favorite things: avocados and the beach. So, though bizarre, this picture always makes me smile. :-)

Moving on...

Well, it's official. I am leaving my current job this Friday, January 26, 2007.

I just accepted a position working with another Houston-based client, so life is about to get pretty interesting. According to the client, "I need to be ready for some exotic travel!"

She then rambled off some of the smallest cities known to man and Kazakhstan. We'll see how this all goes!

A Nice Surprise

One really neat part of my Christmas celebration that I forgot to mention was a wonderful event that two friends of mine held on Christmas evening.

My family tends to do presents the night before Christmas, so on Christmas day, we left my sister's house in San Antonio, stopped at my grandmothers house to finish cleaning up the last bits of her house before it is sold (YAY Mom, Will, and Aunt Sherry for cleaning up - it was a beast), then I went to some friends' house.

Eddie and Megan are a couple I met in a cafe earlier this past year, and we have become fast friends since then. They mentioned having a Christmas get-together, and I was a bit more than surprised by their hospitality on Christmas evening. I arrived at their house to find the dining room decorated in eclectic Christmas goodness and a wonderful smell coming from the kitchen. We had a present opening ceremony where they gave me some great gifts, some exactly what I wanted and others that brought a good laugh. We also ate a meal that was both beautiful and delicious!

I am definitely grateful for friends like Eddie and Megan who are so gracious and giving of themselves and their hospitality. Here are a few pictures that share the events of the evening:
