We understand the importance of your data. At Open Fifth, we carefully manage the migration of your legacy data ensuring full quality control along the way, from initial extraction right up to the final load. Our team of specialists will make sure that existing data is mapped from your legacy system in line with your requirements.
After initial extraction which can be transferred to our dedicated in-house secure server, we use the following workflow:
– Analyse your data in order to understand its structure and any quality issues
– Run a data mapping workshop to help you decide on the optimal configuration of each of your data categories
– Convert and import the data into Koha
– Work with you to test the data rigorously and gain feedback
– Iteratively improve the import process until your data requirements have been met
There is an opportunity to perform some data improvement work on your behalf during the migration project.
The standard data sets we work with include bibliographic records and items, users and loans, but we can also convert certain other data sets if you require.
Our processes are fully transparent so that you can trace the journey of your data between your legacy LMS and Koha, thus ensuring high quality results.We also provide in-situ services to existing customers such as bulk updates and meeting complex reporting needs.
