Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!

The other really fun thing we did was take Calli in to donate her long hair. We've been talking about it for a long time but were hesitant to because we knew it would have to be very short to get in the 10 inches needed for Locks of Love. We bit the bullet though and went for it. There is a cute little salon down town called the Beehive and they give you a cut for free if you're donating it. The girl helping us was really nice and she did a great job! The before picture... Image No turning back now!!!

Calli really enjoyed going to a real hair salon to cut her hair instead of me trying to trim in front of the bathroom mirror at home. haha!

I think it made her feel special and grown up. And I think she looks more grown up with her new hair cut too. Seriously she looks like she could be 7.

Our new-do adorable Calli!

Us

Hello Blogging world. It is weird to think it has been 7 months since I last posted. It is really funny to me that I haven't blogged in so long that my background was outdated and didn't even show up anymore. Haha!

It has been an interesting little time warp. It feels like less time should have passed because we aren't quite were we want to be yet but obviously much has passed and I'm not sure what to say about most of it.

We are all doing well. We've been enjoying the warmer weather a bit but will enjoy it a lot more if and when it stops raining. :)

Rob is a full fledged Veterinarian now. I feel proud of my husband for all his accomplishments. He is enjoying the work and building the business. Trey is growing so big. He still isn't saying a whole lot but we can tell he understands everything. He is still such a handsome of fun loving kid.

The girls just had their birthdays. It is always fun to try to spoil them in the ways that we can.

ImageImage I tried to incorporate the girls favorite colors that they asked for on their cakes and the characters the asked for. Juliana has already changed her mind on her favorite colors but it was fun while it lasted. Image Image ImageImageImage

They definitely enjoyed all the cake and ice cream! Even little Trey!

The Saturday between their birthdays Rob and I took the girls out to see Tangled. Super cute movie and it was super fun to go together. They have definitely been enjoying their new toys and games. I can't believe my kids are growing SO BIG!!!

Our August Vacation and Anniversary

We took advantage of a long weekend last month and took a trip to see Robert's brother Andrew in Waukegan, IL (just north of Chicago). The kids did well on the drive and it was a fun trip. It was great to see Andrew and stay with him. Image Image It was a short stay but we got to go to the Chicago temple. We had a wonderful afternoon there together. The Jelly Belly factory and ride on their Jelly Belly train through the warehouse. It was fun to learn about and taste the many amazing flavors of Jelly Belly's. Rob and Andrew being the good brothers they are dared each other to eat a gross one. Andrew picked pencil shavings and Rob picked centipede. YUM! hahaha! Image Then we ended our stay with Andrew with a nice trip to the beach on the shores of Lake Michigan. I'm glad we took this photo before Juliana went all the way in the water. We couldn't stay long so we didn't put swim suits on the girls.... should have. :)Image After Waukegan we drove to Nauvoo, IL. It was a very round about way to go but we weren't sure how long it would be before we'd get another chance. We actually stopped at Carthage, IL first. Interesting to see the church history and wonderful to see the Nauvoo temple. I love this picture I caught of the girls... precious. Image Then we rushed home because we wanted to celebrate our anniversary. The first time we'd gotten a babysitter for all three kids. A new experience for us. :) And very enjoyable! We spent entirely too much on dinner but enjoyed it. We did kind of a joint gift for each other of a framed collage poster of us, our family, and the lyrics to our song - Kenny Chesney's 'Me and You'. Happy 6 year anniversary to the most wonderful man I could ever dream of having as my husband. Love you!!! ImageImageImage Image

I took these videos of the kids last night and thought I would share them. I took a fun one of Calli too but the file was too big to upload. I'll try to do another one of her tomorrow that isn't so long so that I can post it. Enjoy!

Everything

Hello everyone and thanks for the last post Robert. I have always appreciated the value of journaling (yes I just made up a word) but never have the motivation to do it. So here are random bits and pieces of the last few months that deserve to be posted.... Here are some highlights of our family vacation we did in April. I still can't believe how far we drove in such a short amount of time. It was worth it though. We were able to visit Mount Rushmore... Image Image Slept in the car... (the kids really loved that, This is just a reenactment picture.) Image Visit family we hadn't seen in a long time. There is nothing quite like visiting Great Grandma and Grandpa. I think it is always a cool feeling when you have four generations in one room. Image Image Yay for the weird mannequin outside the world's one and only Corn Place in the small town of Mitchell, South Dakota.... ImageWe drove through sun and snow, saw a lot of deer, antelope, and even wild turkey. Then finally the initial purpose of our trip!.. Sarah's and Royley's wedding! Our good friends from the Cayman islands. It was so special for us to attend their sealing at the Bountiful Temple. They are a perfect couple. It was special to see a lot of other friends from the island that were able to attend too. Life long friends. ImageGood memories. Here are a few highlights on Trey. I love these pics with this hat. ImageImage Trey is still such a happy kid. I hope he always stays so happy going. This video is of when he started sitting on his own back in late April. Then this one is of him beginning to crawl. He started army crawling about three weeks ago and now he is beginning to crawl on his hands a knees. Too cute if you ask me! :) So these to pictures are of Juliana a few weeks ago. We met our ward up at a ward camp out they had just for the day. We went for a little walk to a trail that passed the lake where we found ourselves in swarms of mosquitoes. ImageWe all got bit. Juliana got bit on her temple and looked fine the rest of the day. She must have itched it a lot that night because Sunday morning she woke up like this. The poor girl looked so sad with her fat eye. It was crazy to see her with it. I don't think she really appreciated me taking a picture of her with it. Image While we are on Juliana I should throw in these two pics. I rearranged the furniture in the living room last week and at one point had to roll up the carpet to move the couch. The girls started playing in it and it made me laugh. I took these two pics and they made me laugh harder. They look so trippy.ImageImage We had a lot of fun trying to prepare for Father's Day. It was cute to see what the girls could and could not keep a secret. They actually did a pretty good job. Probably because mostly I didn't tell them what we got him but that is okay. :) It was super cute that the girls were old enough this year to create and color their own Father Day cards for Daddy. We got him a cordless drill (yay for man-toys :) and a personalized Happy Father's Day mug with photos on it of our family. We made his favorite breakfast for him in the morning and one of his favorite treats - chocolate covered pretzles. It was fun to have a special day for him. He works so hard for our future. You do so much for us Daddy! We had fun celebrating his birthday at the end of May too. We love you Daddy!!Imagehmm... what other random things could I show you? This was fun...there is a carousel down the street that is old and cute. We went with a bunch of our friends one day aImagend had a blaImagest.ImageImage Whew... I think that is plenty for now. All in all we are all doing well and enjoying summer.

Wild Animal Adventures

Image So just a quick note and a picture. I am in the large animal hospital right now and we got a case in of a little 8 week old white tail deer that had a broken tibia. It was fun to work on the case and I had to bring the girls in so here they are having a laugh after the deer would lick their hand. Enjoy.

Highlight on Trey

ImageOur handsome little Trey has been growing up so much and we need to brag. :) Just over a month ago he started grabbing for objects. He got good at that fast. Especially at grabbing the girls hair. A couple weeks later he began sitting on his own with out any support. That is always such a nice milestone to get to for Mom. He was also looking at his hands all the time. It was fun to watch him figure out how they worked. Then a week before his 6 month birthday we gave him baby cereal for the first time. He picked up on the whole eating thing very quickly. He really likes baby cereal. He thought it was weird at first when I would mix a little formula in it but now he likes it better that way. Since then he has tried green beans and chowed them down. I don't think I'll ever have to worry about this boy's appetite. I've been pretty busy and not very focused on introducing new foods but I need to. This boy is excited to eat! I swear we took a video of the first time he ate but I can't find it. I hope I didn't accidentally delete it. This one is pretty cute though. :) One of the things that I love about this boy is he can GIGGLE! He is quite ticklish and will just giggle and laugh so hard. It is too much fun. ImageHe is such a happy go lucky little guy. We are so happy to have him in our family. He doesn't even talk yet and he is the peacemaker in our home. Enjoy this last video of him for now. He is beginning to get up on his hands and knees and will rock back and forth a little bit. He usually just ends up scooting himself backward but sometimes he'll get up enough to rock. We definitely love to watch him grow!
