Morning Verse

Cale made a book at Church of the memory versus that the children's ministry has been working on over the last months. I told Cale a couple of days ago that we should bring it in the car so we could work on memorizing scripture on the way to school. Today I finally remembered it. We worked on the first one in the book (per Cale's request) which was for August.

"God will be with you wherever you go" Joshua 1:9

I love this, Cale and I are memorizing and Tyler is entertained and hears scripture each morning!

Ice Storm in Dallas

Yesterday the first of Feb the ice moved in. The boys school closed so both JP and I decided not to brave the roads. It was a fun day at home. Cale and Tyler both attempted to spend time outside all bundled up but did not last long. We braved the roads a very short way to get to McDonalds to meet some good friends for lunch but that was the only outing for the day! Cale spent half the day with Anna from next door part time here and part time over there! I really love having a neighbor that Cale plays so good with!
Today we woke up to no power, it has been off and on since the wee hours of the morning. JP has started a fire and we have blown off work for the second day. The network is down at the office anyway so I don't know what benifit it would be to be there! We will see how the day goes! Hopefully the power stays on because it is really cold out there (wind chill around 1 degree).

Hearing God

Hearing God is the hardest thing to do for me right now. I try, but I struggle with the question, is it me that I am hearing or God. I do a lot of trying to listen and pray on some of my long morning runs (at 5:30am there is little else to do). This morning I found that the voice inside my head was loud and clear, but was it me or God. Then I started thinking about the Holy Spirit, this is God's voice inside of me, so was it the Holy Spirit or just my thoughts. I am not struggling with my belief just struggling with listening and determining what I am hearing.

New Year

I am not a fan of New Years resolutions but I do have things that I have been putting off that I have vowed to kick start in January. One is this blog, yeah yeah I have heard that before. The kids are growing up so quick and it has been so fun to go back and look at this that I would like to attempt to start again, maybe I will commit to a monthly post :) Cale is 5 now and such a little man, that is unless he is with his brother. Tyler is almost 2 now and a tyrant. He loves nothing better than to get Cale to run and tackle him, he just laughs and laughs and asks Cale to do it again!

Egg Hunt at our House

JP set up a great egg hunt for some of the kids at our house for after church and brunch as well. We had a great brunch with the Lee's and then headed home for hunting. We had William and Allison (Hasenbauer), Asher (Lee), Hazen (White), and Cale and Tyler.

Easter 2010

This year I actually dressed the boys in the same outfits, I think I was one of those people that said if I ever became a mom that I would never do that. Oh well, they were too cute!! We colored eggs on Saturday afternoon (during Tyler's nap because he is a terror right now!). We got up to go to church on Sunday morning and the Easter bunny had left the kids baskets by their bedroom doors! Lots of chocolate for all :) We headed to church, late as usual thanks to the dogs (I will not even get into that story). Service was great, I thought Neil did a great job balancing a service with so many people, some weekly members and some that only make it to church on Easter and Christmas. It was the end of a series of sermons that he has been giving on 'Jesus we want what you want' and his message today is that is really difficult. Even the disciples that lived day in and day out with Jesus had a tough time believing, it is more difficult for us today in this world. The bottom line is we need to ask him for an open mind, an open heart and for His strength to be with Him. God has the power to raise him from the dead, his power can help us do anything! Ok, now on to the cutest boys ever...
