Update on Kai!

We sent a care package to Kai about three weeks ago and received some pictures and an update back from the orphanage! He looks like a sweet kid. John thinks he looks like he's going to tear the house apart.






Timeline: looks like we will have approval to travel in November. We are anticipating travel in early December...home in plenty of time for Christmas.

In no particular chronology:

1. Nora (while wielding a long wooden sword) "Give me all your booty or I'll make you walk the plank" Me: "now there's a line that might have worked."
2. Some parents don't deserve their children.
3. I'm officially ag-faired out.
4. I can't believe what some teenagers walk out of the house wearing.
5. Summer! Finally!
6. Really nothing good can be said about morning glory.
7. Nora: "Avast, matey, let's sail the seven seas."
8. There is such a thing as too many blueberries

10. Oh good. Another el Nino year.

LOA LOA LOA LOA LOA

I know it looks funny on its side, but it gets all wierd the other way.



We got home from our (totally glorious) Traverse City, Michigan vacation this morning to find our LOA in the mailbox. I spent several hours intermittently unpacking and completing our I800 application (next step). Amazingly, I got all of the necessary documents together (there were several) and I made it to the Fedex office in time to make the afternoon pick-up, so our application should be in Texas at the USCIS "lock box" by tomorrow! We should get our I800 approval back in 2-3 weeks.

And then...more steps.

LOA!

We got an email from our agency today letting us know that our LOA is on its way to us! So, we are moving along at about an average pace. We will probably get approval to travel some time in November.

LOA on its way?

We just got an email from our agency letting us know that our LOA might be coming this week. Not getting my hopes up just yet. But it's not a bad sign, anyway!
