It was a LONG 2 1/2 week wait, but we FINALLY got word that the margins on L's last surgery came back with no sign of Melanoma! It's one of those things where you know it should be fine, but the longer you have to wait, the more your mind plays with you and trys to tell you otherwise. Maybe it's because when she was first diagnosed back in December, it was over 2 weeks because they had to send the biopsy to San Francisco for a second opinion. Happily, this time the news is good!
We wanted to attach a few pictures for you to show you the progress. When you look at her 2 eyebrows, it's hard to believe that her left eyebrow is what used to be the bottom of her eyebrow, so just imagine all the tissue that has been removed to lift it to where it is. (10 mm the first time and 8 mm the second time) Because of this, when she's in a deep sleep, her eye is open a bit and it's a little creepy to see her looking at you! In time, the skin will relax and be almost normal. Until then, we aren't allowed to do anything to shape her right eyebrow.
We're grateful for wonderful doctors who take such good care of her. Next skin check? Today! Wish us luck!
**Update~ Skin check went great! First time EVER that we left without a biopsy being done!!! Since new Melanoma appeared on her eyebrow, we start over with the quarterly skin checks for the next year, which we don't really mind because we LOVE Dr. Price! L will also be part of a new clinic that is being started by Dr. Price and Dr. Singh for high risk patients. Then she'll get to see both of her favorites at the same time!!!
Before surgery with her surgeon, Dr. Singh.

After surgery, as miserable as she looks!

Sleeping
As beautiful as ever!!!
