So Much To Blog About!

I have a bunch to blog about! W, B, and L's birthday's, our trip to New England, Homecoming Dance, K's favorite pass time, and a HUGE event happening October 6 (Elder B rejoining our family!) Unfortunately, I have no time until after the huge event to blog! So until then, know all is well and we're happy as can be at our home!

Clear Once More!

It was a LONG 2 1/2 week wait, but we FINALLY got word that the margins on L's last surgery came back with no sign of Melanoma! It's one of those things where you know it should be fine, but the longer you have to wait, the more your mind plays with you and trys to tell you otherwise. Maybe it's because when she was first diagnosed back in December, it was over 2 weeks because they had to send the biopsy to San Francisco for a second opinion. Happily, this time the news is good!

We wanted to attach a few pictures for you to show you the progress. When you look at her 2 eyebrows, it's hard to believe that her left eyebrow is what used to be the bottom of her eyebrow, so just imagine all the tissue that has been removed to lift it to where it is. (10 mm the first time and 8 mm the second time) Because of this, when she's in a deep sleep, her eye is open a bit and it's a little creepy to see her looking at you! In time, the skin will relax and be almost normal. Until then, we aren't allowed to do anything to shape her right eyebrow.

We're grateful for wonderful doctors who take such good care of her. Next skin check? Today! Wish us luck!

**Update~ Skin check went great! First time EVER that we left without a biopsy being done!!! Since new Melanoma appeared on her eyebrow, we start over with the quarterly skin checks for the next year, which we don't really mind because we LOVE Dr. Price! L will also be part of a new clinic that is being started by Dr. Price and Dr. Singh for high risk patients. Then she'll get to see both of her favorites at the same time!!!

After surgery, as miserable as she looks!

Beginning of the End

Anyone who knows me knows I dread when school starts again! I love having my children home with me and a much more relaxed schedule. L, on the other hand, LOVES every thing about school! So for her sake, I really tried to be happy and positive and excited for her big day. It was really quite monumental since she will be a mighty Senior and will graduate this year! That means no more "first day of school" pictures by the balloons like we've done for the past 18 years. It's really hard for me to think about, so for now, I won't think about it and just enjoy the adventure with her!

I hope everyone else's first day went just as swell as hers did!

Traditional "first day" by the balloons. It's kind of a neighborhood thing.

She gets to carpool with Sarah this year! Up and out of here by 6:30 am! Yikes!!!

ImageThis was around 7 pm as we went to pick W up from the light rail. This new schedule may take a bit of getting used to!

Take-2

Remember this and this? We're on our way to do it all again! Even though all margins came back clear last time, somehow new melanoma has developed in nearly the exact same place as before. We'll keep you posted...and thanks in advance for your positive thoughts and prayers!

How Did I Get So Lucky...Blessed?!?!

Image
Today was a wonderful day to celebrate my Sweetheart and the wonderful Father that he is! Every day I count my blessings, he being at the top of the list. Heavenly Father sure knew what He was doing when He told me to marry W! I'm so grateful that I listened. We have been so blessed to have the 4 beautiful children that we have, and I am so blessed to have him as their Dad. I appreciate daily the example he is to me of a righteous man and head of our household (even though he lets me think I'm really the one in charge)! Happy Father's Day "Willie"! Thanks for being you and loving us!

Easter Pageant Experience Shared

Easter Pageant Link 1

Easter Pageant Link 2

As most of you know, participating in the Easter Pageant each year is a tradition our family LOVES! This year was no different. We added L's great friend, Payton, to our family and we all became "missionaries" with Elder Partridge in sharing the message of Christ with others. This year, our family was one selected to be interviewed by LDS.org. Above are a couple of links about the Pageant and the interviews. In the second one, L and K share their testimonies of Christ. K is also quoted in both of the articles. Thanks to them and all who are willing to share their feelings about our Savior and spend the time and energy in many ways to share His message.
