It was a special day, twice the blessings for sure! It was great to have some grandparents with us on our special day too. Being the day after Christmas we know its always been tricky to have parties or celebrations that people can actually make it too. We have been up until now been able to celebrate  a bit later around New years day. But this day has been pretty important and has been very specific and imprinted onto their minds. haha

The program was very sweet and simple, Grandpa John gave the opening prayer, Joe gave a talk on Baptism, then he Baptized them, I helped them into the font and out of it, and Kaylee was baptized first then waited wet on the steps while Renee got Baptized. They both kicked their feet up but Joe was able to keep them under the water at least. They both were so excited as they changed out of their baptism clothes, they both exclaimed "We just got baptized!" They put on their beautiful dresses that Grandma Kathy made. We returned to the Relef society room where our neighbor was playing some beautiful interlude music on her violin. Then I spoke on the holy Ghost and they were confirmed members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and were given the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Bro Jones from the Bishopric gave some concluding remarks after the Primary welcomed them. We had cookies in the primary room and then Grandma Jane came over for a nice luncheon with our family. It was a very nice day.

Twins Birthday

Image
Kaylee and Renee are truly "mini-me's"
They wanted Strawberry shortcake for their "birthday cake" instead of cupcakes or regular cake. :-)
Sure thing!! That made me happy!
They loved their cake, and being able to spend their day with some of their favorite people..

Christmas list

I was talking to Jordan today and asked him "What do you want for Christmas?"
His face lit up with a smile and he said " Ummmmmmm.....a truck....No,no,no....a bouncy ball!!"
"A bouncy ball?"
"Ya!"
"A big one or or a little one?"
"A wittle one!"

Haha! Ok I'm pretty sure Santa can fit that in his bag and his buffet! ;-)
Then later that day we were playing and came across a "whittle bouncy ball" and I pointed it out to him, and said " Jordan and wiggle bouncy ball! Just like you said you wanted for Christmas!"
His face lit up again exclaiming "Yay!!" And he grabbed it and put it in his pocket for the rest of the day! It was super cute!!

The. That same day, joe came home from work with a stuffed animal for each kid and when I was putting the girls to bed they were both clutchng their stuffed animal and Kaylee asked me... "Why don't parents sleep with stuffed animals?"
I said "I don't know, kids just like them"
And she says to me "you could get a side pillow that is shaped like hello kitty instead!
"Yes I could"
And Joe says "I know what to get mommy for Christmas now!"
Haha!

Home again, Home Again....

The Trip home was overall good, but of course there are hurdles to overcome. First off was...my incorrect calculations of weighing my suitcase, i was 10 lbs over and had to redistribute to avoid the $100 heavy bag fee. My sister in law Megan had fortunately came to our rescue and gave us a reusable grocery bag, so we could take out some weight of the suitcase, so that all worked out, the kids were great during that and wasn't too stressful. Then we begin with the delays....an hour to start in Orange County then in Chicago it was 3 more on top of the already 2 hour lay over. So we ate lots of Mcdonalds, and found an area of seats where we could see planes and play tag and such with out disturbing TOO many people. haha Then Ryan realized he left his new Disneyland hat on the plane after we were halfway to the next gate....2 terminals away, like a 10 minute walk. So we turned around and by the time we got there they were loading the plane and already "cleaned" it and they said his hat wasn't there and maybe the cleaning crew grabbed it and to put in a lost and found report....so essentially it's gone. Oh well, lesson learned in responsibility learned the hard way. So back to our new gate to hang out. for several hours. But it was a tease, because every 45 minutes they would change the departure time. So we didn't end up leaving til 10:30 pm and got to Peoria around 11:30. The plane from Chicago was a tiny little plane, only one seat on one side and 2 on the other, so Ryan and Kaylee sat in front of my and Jordan and Renee in the one seat next to me across the aisle. Well on the decent right before we landed, Ryan turns to me through the crack in the seats and says..."MOM KAYLEE THREW UP!" Oh my goodness, i immediately get up to give her a barf bag and get scolded over the PA system "MAM' YOU NEED TO SIT DOWN!:"  I say "sorry, I am just helping my daughter who is throwing up!" So as soon as we park and can, i switch seats with Ryan and start cleaning her up, with the baby wipes I thankfully packed in my backpack. She had puked twice before i could get her a bag.....and again we ate Mcdonalds all day....so it was super gross puke. Sorry for the details haha! People were nice about it and would give me tissues or purell wipes and said sorry as they walked by, but the flight attendant didn't offer any help, just rushed us off the plane and told me again of the importance to stay in my seat belt when we are landing. She walks away with her hand over her nose. Unbelievable!
So ya, from there, Jordan had fallen asleep on the plane so i had to carry him,and pon off his backpack, and the extra bag i made from our over weight luggage. Then we head to a bathroom to get kaylee washed up, fortunately i packed an extra set of clothes in each of their backpacks, so it wasn't too bad getting her cleaned up. (Best tip ever! and i packed them in a ziplock bag  so i was able to put her nasty clothes in a bag and be on my way!) From there everything went super smooth, ryan was able to get our bag off of the baggage carrosel, and pull it for me, the parking shuttle was right there waiting so we hoped right on, and he took us right to our car, and we were on our way. kids all fell asleep with in minutes and i had so much adrenaline i guess that i was wide awake so i zipped home and got home just before 2.

Grandma's house

Grandmas house is just as good as Disneyland to the kids. And like staying in a hotel for us adults, with free nice homemade breakfast in the morning, pool in the back and help with the kids, it doesn't get better!!
From the moment we got there we there we were jumping in the pool or riding the 4 wheelers or scooters. We were supposed to go to the Children's Musuem one day and the kids didn't want to leave grandmas house they would rather swim! So we had our fun there which made it nice for all of us!
Wish it wasn't so short of a stay! But it sure was fun!
