11th Day of Christmas

For Christmas this year I did something a little different.  I did the 12 days of Christmas to Bob.  So here we are on day 11…and here are 11 things I love about my sweetheart. Smile

R – Remarkable – Well, you just are!

O – Open – To those that truly know you, you share your heart.

B – Brilliant – What a smarty pants! What can I say?  I married an amazingly intelligent guy.

E – Engaging – You are not only good at an engaging conversation, but you are an engaging teacher to myself and our children.

R – Reflective – You always try to better yourself and learn and grow in wisdom, whether it be in home, church or work.

T – Thoughtful – You have a heart of gold when it comes to doing something for your family or someone in need.

L – Loving – You always treat me with love and respect and it makes me love you even more each day.

A – Ambitious – You are such a hard worker and when you have an idea, you follow through with it.  You’re always willing to go the extra mile.

M – Motivated – I admire your ability to get up early so you can accomplish more in the day and also your strength when it comes to going to the gym and eating well.

A – Affectionate – I love the way you admire and build up myself and our children.

R – Reliable – I know I can always count on you to do what you say and that means the world to me.

Love you Bob! :)

Cameron’s 9th Birthday

We had such a blast celebrating Cameron’s 9th Birthday at Cornbelly’s.  It’s a Fall Festival/Corn Maze at Thanksgiving Point and it was a great place to have fun with the whole family.

We had fun going in the the kiddie maze and the big corn maze.  We used a map for the big one.  Being stuck in a corn maze with a bunch of kids for hours on end didn’t sound all that appealing to me.  We were glad that Gr. and Gr. Paxman were able to come along for the fun and Devin and Heidi met us there with Tyson and Holly.

Thanks to Devin and Heidi who let us trash their house for a few hours!  Cameron really wanted s’mores and pumpkin pie for his birthday and they were kind enough to provide a firepit.  So we all chowed on those yummy things after eating dinner at JCW’s with the Spann’s and Gray’s.  I’d say he had a great birthday! I know I had fun!

Caelyn’s 2 year old pics

Finally got around to having these taken…did some at a studio and then I took some in Provo Canyon to take advantage of the beautiful leaves in Fall.

Cameron earns his wolf!

Cameron has worked very hard this year in scouts and he has finally earned his Wolf Badge!  Good job Cameron!  You earned it along with 1 gold arrow and 3 silver arrows.   Channing also earned his compass badge.  Yay! Great job!

They also had a box car race during pack meeting.  It was hilarious to watch as they made various pit stops for a “flat tire” (dad took shoes off and then had to put them back on and tie them), “gas fill-up” (had to drink water from a cup with a straw), and windshield spray down on their goggles/glasses with a water bottle and wipe down with a towel.  Pretty fun!

Fall Pictures–Spann Family Cousins

Fall in Utah is gorgeous!  It doesn’t last long, but it’s pretty while it lasts!

Rain, Temple Dedication

I love how my kids still get excited if it rains.  We had so little rain in Phoenix that it was always a novelty.  Thankfully that hasn’t worn off.  They still love it and run outside to play in it!

Channing and Cameron got to attend the Brigham City Temple Dedication today at our Stake Center.  This was the 2nd dedication that Channing has been to (Gila River being the first) and it was Cameron’s 1st.  It was fun to share this special day with them as we went as a family.  There were several speakers and to the boys it was a lot like church but I hope that over the years they will come to see the significance of the temple in their lives and remember this day with much fondness as these days are rare and we don’t get to go to many of these.

Raspberry Picking–Yummy!

I’m always on the lookout for new adventures for the family.  In some ways, moving has been fine, in other ways it’s been hard.  So we’ve tried to create new things for the kids to do and remember and to try out.  This is one of those adventures! Raspberry picking.  This is hard work and scratchy work!  The kids didn’t really complain much though.  They all like raspberries.  Caelyn just ate them right off the plant.  Her bucket was empty after an hour of picking.  We picked 11 lbs. that day!  Bob was all scratched up because he just went for it! His bucket was almost full. It was worth it though! So delicious to have fresh berries.  We ate lots and froze the rest for later…mmmm…..
