have u seen robot dance? have u ever heard of it?? hoho i tell ya its super cool!! haha kagum jap..
so we (me, erin n suraya) entered a competition organized by petronas on february 15th at klcc convention center. its all started when suraya suddenly asked me about it one day. without ever thinking about it, i immediately said yes and in fact glad that i agreed to play it.
its been long since i last played basketball. it was during midwest games 2006 i played 3on3 women basketball alongside maz, nadiahz and ninie. they were the 1st 3 and i was only the reserve as im quite new at playing basketball. ather who was our coach at that time, had done a very good job coaching us especially me, who know nothing about basketball skills, and i had succesfully learnt at least the basic of it. i love lay up the most, and still suck at shooting under pressure. well, that was a year ago.
departed from uniten at around 7.30am, erin and I arrived at klcc via putra lrt at 8.30am. suraya was already there since she came straight from bukit jalil. as the 1st timers, we were already nervous by just looking at the crowd there. they seemed better and more skillful than us and might have been played basketball forever..but us? we play for fun, no specific skills to show and have never tried such a big public challenge as this..haha..we then registered our team, got the jerseys and what not. entering the hall, there was the opening and launching ceremony that was about to begin. we walked straight to the court at the back to check which game and court we were supposed to be in. wreck unit was scheduled to play against N-trio in the 3rd game at court 3. we thought of doing some warm ups at least before the match but we were so shy..well, u know, 1st timers. anyway, the organizers didnt allow the participants to use the courts so we were just sat together with the guys’ team (luckily they [shahrul, meng n ijat] joined the challenge too so we did have a gang/supporters to cheer us up as well as to calm us down 😛 ). we watched them played 1st then we went to our court a few minutes before our match was about to start.
then was the time we had been waiting for. as Team A, we got the ball first and we did quite a good first try where erin almost score a shot  but after rebound, and got the ball back, i layed up and scored. didnt expect it to go in actually but yea, we were lucky to lead at first. the opponent was still trying to get a score and after a few minutes, they managed to tie us. we didnt get to hold the ball that much (im still wondering why the ref gave a lot of ball to them compared to us) so we didnt get to score that many. however, erin and suraya did a few good tries and we were just unlucky the ball didnt go in. finally we lost with the score 3-2.
we havent trained much for the petronas challenge hence we lost at the very beginning. but anyway, we learnt a lot from the experience. there are a lot of rooms for improvement and next time, we definitely wanna play until the very end! yeah, thats the spirit. the game basically was a single knock out game which secured a team, a match (this is so unsatifying..huhu). the game was played according to the first-to-11 rule whereby the team who reached point 11 first during the 7minutes time will be the winner then proceeded to the next level.
unexpectedly, we also met with ashraf muslim there. lil did i know that he is actually a basketball player. so after losing, we tried some other stuff at the carnival such as freeshoot competition, F1 challenge and also watching bboy challenge. we went back to uniten after watching the final leg of the challenge where ashraf’s team won for the non chinese men category while my ssp juniors’ team (jiah, kutar and xigt lg sorang) won the non chinese women category. oh i forgot to mention that there were also sbp who also sent a few teams. and this is not fair at all (hehe 😛 ) becoz they train this everyday and the chances of winning was high on their side. i also met with ara and some other juniors whom i know was a great basketballers back in school and still are in their respective college.
so we arrived at uniten at around 8.30 i guess and even tho we didnt feel that tired playing, but we’ve had a lot of fun!! hopefully there will be another 3on3 challenge soon! 😉

suddenly i miss this two persons. they are my bestfriends, sisters and everything. im not so close to my parents, hence they’re the place where i tell almost everything besides to my close friends. i regret i didnt do anything much to show i love them before, worst, i dont think they (and also family) are important to me because i was raised to do all the things by myself. i still remember my supervisor, susan, once asked, “how do you feel being afar from family and home? dont you miss them?” my answer was, “nope, im used to this thing. i was sent to boarding school since i was 13 until i was 17 then i got enrolled to a prep course for a year. then pursue my study here in the states so yea, i am kinda immune to being afar.” and then she replied, “well, maybe at this time you feel like that, but at a point of time in your life, you’ll feel that family is the most important thing in your life..”..i then just smiled and nodded. i think i’ve reached ‘that point of time’ she said. i miss them, miss gossiping and what not..FYI all 3 of us were sent to boarding school when we was 13, so we didnt spend so much of our growing up time together. that explains y i miss them now. i wonder when we would really have the time coz after this, we’ll be busy handling our own life- job, family etc..however, i never wish i could turn back the time as the experience make us appreciate every second that we have.
p/s: tetibe feeling lak ni..hehe 😛
