Art Journaling Session

7:30pm – 10pm, first Monday of the month, £5

Please email me to see if space is available and to book your place.

An informal session of art journaling in The Studio.

During each session, you will learn mixed media techniques as you work in your own art journal. Each month, we have a different theme and base our layout on that. You’re welcome to use the sample layout as inspiration or do your own thing using the materials provided. Even with the same starting point and materials, our pages are individual and unique. Novice and experienced art journalers are welcome.

Materials and refreshments are provided. If you do not have an art journal to work in, a suitable one can be purchased on the night for just £2.

You’re also invited to peruse my craft library/magazines while you’re here, including Stampington Art Journal magazines.

To see examples of the type of pages we create, click here for posts about our previous projects.

(Maximum group size: 8, minimum age: 10 – under 18s must be accompanied by a paying responsible adult)

Bespoke art class

By arrangement, £35 per hour plus materials

If you’re looking to try out different art techniques, mediums, styles or start a new crafting hobby, then I can help. With loads of materials and equipment to choose from here at The Studio, I will guide you through how to use them and express your creativity. With an emphasis on ‘why’ you’re doing something as well as the ‘how’, you’ll learn how to carry on with your chosen media in your own art practice.

From basic sketching, painting with different types of paint and how to mix colours without making mud, through to upcycled t-shirt sculptures, crochet and quilting, there’s plenty to choose from.

Get in touch with me to discuss what you’d like to achieve, and we’ll get a date in the diary.

(Maximum group size: 2, minimum age: 10 – please remember under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Hourly rate can be shared between participants, materials will be charged per individual.)

Lasers for crafters

By arrangement, £35 per hour plus materials

Considering a desktop laser for your home? Already got one but feeling like you’re not making the most of it? Do you know what sets CO2, diode, fiber and UV apart? And what about cutting, engraving, and etching? Plus, what materials can you actually use with all those different lasers?

I’ve been using a desktop laser since 2018, starting with a Glowforge Basic and now using xTool P2S, F1 Ultra and F2 Ultra UV machines. My laser work is mostly focused on art and craft projects, though I’m sometimes able to help with small commercial engraving jobs.

Book a session with me, and I will take you through the basics if you would just like an introduction or to try out one of my lasers, or book several sessions to learn more about designing, cutting and building projects from scratch. If you’re thinking about buying an xTool laser, you might like to book a session through their xTool Squad programme (in-person or online). This allows me to earn a small commission on your purchase, and these demo sessions are sometimes offered free of charge.

I’m also happy to assist you in cutting your own small-batch designs if you want one-off access to a laser.

Get in touch with me to discuss what you’d like to achieve, and we’ll get a date in the diary.
