Last night was Lindsay's first machine pitch baseball game. She was soo excited. There are only a couple of girls on the team, but I think they are actually better than the boys. The game started out kind of slow and the other team got them out so quickly, and our team struggled to get the ball and make any outs, but the next innings were actually quite fun to watch. Lindsay got a good hit every time she was up to bat! She also got the ball and got an out on third, and then in the last inning, she reached way up and caught a fly ball just past second base, and ran and touched the base for a DOUBLE PLAY. If she hadn't caught it, the boy would have had a home run because no one was behind her. WAY TO GO LINDSAY!
I have to admit that I am rather proud of my kids. Both Lindsay and Alyssa tried out for the school talent show and made it in. Alyssa played her guitar and sang, and Lindsay played the piano. They were pretty nervous performing in front of the whole school (820+ people), but they did SUPER.
And now on to SUMMER! We don't really have any great plans since we vacationed in Nauvoo over spring break, but would like to jet ski at Jordanelle, hike to Timp Cave, picnic at Cascade Springs, hike to the waterfalls by Aspen Grove, etc. We will mostly hang out at the pool. Dan is working there again this summer. He has been such a good responsible boy. We got him a new bike and you might see him cruising the streets on his way to work and to his friends.
I have let the kids just veg this past couple of days. I haven't made them do hardly any work around the house because I am completely dejunking the basement. And I mean completely. I have gone through every box and the kids have been really willing to part with things that have been stored for a while. I have made a mess of the family room while I have sorted through boxes, but I think today I will get the storage room back together and move on to the other rooms. I think I would like to have a garage sell in the next few weeks. We'll see how much stuff I can really come up with.

We are back from our trip to Nauvoo. We were gone 9 days. We had a few really long days in the van, but everyone stayed healthy and the only car trouble we had was no heat as we made our way through a huge snowstorm on our way into Denver on Friday night. We had to turn the defroster up full blast and it only would blow cold air, but we made it. We thought we might have to stay in Denver one more night because I-70 was closed, but Rick thought we could make it through Cheyenne. Luckily we followed our GPS directions and went through Fort Collins, which was lucky, because we would have been stuck in Cheyenne because they had closed I-80 between Cheyenne and laramie. We were truly blessed throughout the entire trip. We had a really great time. I know that I would have made a really terrible pioneer. I am not sure I would have been able to endure their many hardships as they crossed the plains, and gave up all their worldy cares to follow the prophet. We had such a great time. I will try to post some pictures later. I am really glad to be back in Utah. I really love the mountains, and the fact that there are so many temples and LDS chapels around. I think it was Elder Anderson at conference who said you are never lost if you can see the temple.

I have become a total slacker. This poor excuse of a blog is a perfect example of my idle state. At least I did put a small post about Alyssa's birthday, but Erin's birthday was just a few days after Alyssa's, and I did nothing. Poor Erin :( I did wish her a happy birthday though, but I thought I should officially wish her a LATE happy day on the blog, so . . . .
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERIN!!!! We love you!
Life has been busy. Last weekend was Daniel's jr high play, Music Man Jr. He was so handsome in his suit. He did not have one of the main roles, but did have four or five lines and was on the stage quite a bit. It was an awesome play and he did a SUPER job. Way to go Dan.
Alyssa had a ballroom team match at BYU on Saturday. Her team got a silver medal! Alyssa is dancing with the second year students even though this is her first year. She is doing so great! It was very fun to watch her.
And then there is Lindsay . . . poor Lindsay. She had to get an expander in her mouth because she has a crossbite, so for the next six months she has to have this metal thing in her mouth and we have to turn a knob every night to make it stretch out her mouth. She has had to learn how to swallow and talk without touching her tongue to the roof of her mouth (go ahead, try it, I dare you, swallow without your tongue touching the roof of your mouth). Hopefully it won't seem quite so tragic after a week or two.
