Star Spangled Banner

Image

We had a good 4th of July. Really easy going. We went to a parade on Saturday morning and the kids got an insane amount of candy. Too bad I don't have more self control. I ended up throwing it out after a few days of us all on a sugar high. Last night we went to the the fireworks in layton. It was so much fun to watch them with Lucy. They really were spectacular and I forgot how much I love fireworks.

Hope you all had a fabulous fourth.

Spring Back

Catching up....

ImageImageIn March I did a cake for a cute little girl in our neighborhood. They did a huge 1st birthday party with the Princess and the Frog theme. Everything went fairly well cake wise. But through some research I have done over the last month- i have learned SOOO much about cake decorating. I wish I had known this stuff years ago. Now that I know more I want to do another layer cake. i am pretty sure I have perfected the structure part (not on this cake though). But I sure loved the colors of this one.

Image Image ImageImageImage ImageWe had the craziest Easter Egg Hunt. There was snow on the ground and it was COLD. But the kids still had fun. Deidre had donuts and hot chocolate- which was perfect. :)

Image easter outfits. Not much else to say there. :)

Warning to ALL- late nights with (10) 8 year-old girls requires A LOT of energy. HOLY!
ImageImageImageImageImageImageMy uber trendy Halle is all into owls right now. So that was the theme she wanted (Night Owl Party). Check out the cute necklace she got from Jaclyn. I wish I had a picture of the owl shirt my friend Kim made her- so cute. I have super crafty friends- so Halle definately benefitted from that :)Image Oh and you know we got jiggy with "Just Dance" (by far my favorite wii game) I can't beat Aleesha- but I can beat a bunch of 8 year olds. :)

Running from something....

I ran 14 miles today. 13.5 miles is the most I have ever run at one time- so 14 was a record for me. I am so ready for the Salt Lake Half next Saturday. I just had to share :)

Dear Abby (Part 1)

Dear Abby,
Happy Belated Birthday. (I am sorry I missed it). I am so sorry I have been a bad sister-in-law and have neglected keeping you updated on our lives. So I am repenting and giving you the gift of blogging for your birthday present. I promise for the next year to blog once a week (even if they are the lamest posts ever). I am blogging for you- I know how much it means to you since you are so very far away. We miss you guys so much! I know our sweet family in the great white north will benefit from your birthday present too. So here is an update since you left. We celebrated New Years Eve- (put those puff balls to good use :)Image ImageImage

ImageImage Image Image Lucy had to get stitches. WE were at a Jazz game when Halle called me and dramatically told me that Lucy cut her head open. Needless to say- We had a fabulous babysitter who handled everything so well and good neighbors who made us feel very loved. So here she is at 3 am just after getting back from the hospital.

ImageImageImage We celebrated our birthdays. I surpsrised Rob with a cake and a mini- party. Finally made that bacon cake :)

Image ImageImage we celebrated valentine's Day- I made this shirt for Mya (she wore it proudly to her preschool Valentine's Day party). I made the girls skirts too. I must have forgotten to take pictures. We celebrated with cupcakes this year rather than sugar cookies.

Image ImageImageImageImageImage We celebrated Lincoln and Ezra's birthday on Valentine's Day. I made Lincoln a monster cake. He wanted a doctor's coat and doctor set for his birthday. So I made him one (at Debi's request :) It looks like Lincoln is following in his Uncle James' footsteps. :)

Image Image We celebrated 100 years in scouting for the Blue and Gold banquet. Jax and his cute friend Marcus made a mess on my table and went to town making cakes for the cake contest. Cute, cute, cute. I am going to turn Jax into a Wes F. :)

ImageImageImage And then Mountain Man Day and Pioneer Day at school (all within a week of each other) I had to make a mountian man costume and could not find a coon hat- so I made one. Jax wore it proud. He wears it occasionally at home and makes me think of Jamie at this age. Jamie got a davy crocket hat at Disneyland when we were kids and he wore that thing out. :)
So there is up until the end of February for you. I will post March next week. We miss you guys more than we can say. I miss cute Pearly and Milo!!!! Halle is SOO sad that you will miss her baptism. But that being said, We are excited for you and all that you are doing. LOVE YOU!!!!!
Amy
