We know reaching out for support can come with a lot of questions.
This FAQ is designed to help you understand how our services work, what to expect, and how to get started. If you don’t see your question here, we’re always happy to help.
What does therapy cost?
Most Pineapple Support resources, including support groups, drop-ins, workshops, webinars, and online & in-person events, are completely free.
For one-on-one therapy, we ask you to contribute what you can afford, and we cover the rest. Every contribution helps us support another creator in need.
Is my information safe?
Yes. Your privacy is one of our top priorities.
We use secure, healthcare-industry-standard systems to protect your information. After you apply, you are assigned a unique internal code that is used between Pineapple Support and your therapist instead of your full name. This means your personal details are never shared with anyone outside your therapist’s confidential clinical notes.
Your identity and information remain fully confidential at all times.
Do you offer in-person therapy?
Pineapple Support primarily offers online therapy so you can access care from anywhere.
If you and your therapist happen to be close enough geographically, you may be able to discuss the option of in-person sessions together. This is arranged directly between you and your therapist, depending on what is appropriate and available.
How do I apply for therapy?
Simply complete the therapy request form on our website. It only takes a few minutes.
How long does it take to get connected?
We process all therapy requests within three working days.
Connection times for one-on-one mental health support vary depending on urgency and availability, usually between one week and four months.
Who qualifies for Pineapple Support therapy?
You qualify if you’ve been active in the online adult industry for at least six months within the past six months.
If, during your assessment, it’s clear that you need a higher level of care (such as inpatient or crisis support), your therapist will make appropriate suggestions and help you understand your options.
Once you’ve received the level of care you need, you’re welcome to reapply for Pineapple Support therapy at any time.
What if I need urgent or crisis support?
Pineapple Support is not a crisis service.
If you are in immediate danger or need urgent help, please contact your local emergency services or crisis hotline. A list of international crisis resources is available on our website.
Can I continue seeing my therapist privately after my funded sessions end?
Yes. Many resource users choose to continue privately. You can arrange this directly with your therapist.
