Last weekend back home in Ireland so I decided to head West to Glengariff with some chums. Fab times had by all. See beautiful photo here.! Head to South America on Wednesday and I've even managed to do a few shifts at my old job so it was a lovely visit home catching up with everyone.
Rio here I come I guess!
Also this is a rather hilarious video. The introduction in Irish basically says that this student from Dublin is going to dance for everyone. Kinda great.

I'm alive still..
but you'd never think it considering what happened in the city today. A random elephant escaped form a circus and ran riot.
Pretty hilarious really.
And yes I am briefly home in Ireland, sorry for the lack of update It's been hard to update while I toured all of South East Asia, New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong and did some random work around the place. And now Im of to London in the morning and then South America in 2 weeks. Promise I'll tell all before heading away again peeps but for now enjoy this video!

I'm still alive.
Not that you would know as I have no blogged in over 2 months! Lots has happened, good and bad. I'm really enjoying my new life in Adelaide although the frisking heat is starting to get to me. It's 37 degrees today, a mild 26 degrees by night. Oh yeah and HAPPY CHRISTMAS!! A's sister is staying with us at the moment (she's on night shift so she's fast asleep in bed right now) so we're out in the sitting room just about to make dinner. Twill be a feast indeed!
In other Christmas news, I really miss my family, friends, home today. I normally never get homesick but it all struck me the other day when I went shopping and couldn't find a pack of After Eights. Damn Ozzies. I also uploaded a rather hilarious video of myself onto Facebook doing one of those Skyswings in NZ, a gift to my friends back home for Xmas. Very unflattering, my hair goes everywhere and it appears as though I have an isolated upper limb motor disorder. Not for posting here.
Work is actually going pretty well although I'm on nights from Wednesday and shall be covering the emergency department for NYE. Yup. That'll be a good 'un.
Furthermore, plans to head off into the sunset are well underway. I'll be leaving Adelaide at the start of Feb, heading to the East coast and doing a bitta travelling for the craic. Lots of peeps to meet along the way, CANNOT WAIT!
OK so I'll leave this post now as after all, it is Christmas day and I shouldn't be spending it online. Happy Christmas everyone,
Lots of love,
P.

Welcome to Adelaide
It's been a ridiculously long time since I've written a proper post but that's how much fun I've been having. I'm currently settling in to Adalide and myeslf and A have found a lovely little apartment down by the beach in Glenelg. OK, so I lie. It's an absolute dive. A hovel to be correct as we have so aptly named it. More importantly though, it came furnished and we were far too lazy to go out lugging a fridge around on my back. A doesn't carry things like that. Or rubbish bins. Or some of her luggage. That's what boys are there for apparently. Anyways, our place is only a 5 minute walk from the beach and today I spent the afternoon reading "The Help" on the sandy shores. That's always nice. Doesn't it look purty?
Work is going well, settling in a bit after my whole 3 days and working with some good people. I even went to a work related BBQ yesterday, or rather a barbie as they call them out here. There was some great food (remind me to never host a BBQ as mine shall never compare) but a disppointing result with the rugby. Ireland lost to Wales in the quarter finals in case you didn't know. Quite disappointing after the epic game I witnessed against Australia. Gah.
On a more positive note, I'm off to the Melbourne Cup in a few weeks. Now, I know absolutely nothing about horse races but it's mostly just an excuse to dress up. I can do that much. I'd be a fool to pass up the opportunity to get drunk in fancy clothes doncha think? I'm also planning a trip to the Outback soon enough. It's only spring here at the moment but it feels like a hot Irish summer already. I think I'm going to melt once it hits 40 degrees on Christmas day. Bah. We all figure if we work Christmas (since we're all away from home) we can go to Sydney for New Year's, which is supposedly kind of amazing.
So I'll leave you on that happynote, talk sooon amigos. Promise to keep in contact more!

Quick Synopsis
OK so apologies for the extreme lack of blogging but you can take it as a sign that I'm having the time. In short:
Thailand was amazing.
Cambodia was beautiful.
New Zealand is fantastic.
I've only just realised how much fun skiing is.
Travelling with 7 girls in 2 campervans is so emotionally demanding. Sometimes we curl up on the couch in a hangover stupor and watch a DVD and I've just seen far too much of Bradley Coooper and Romcoms to be sane.
Fortunately for me, I'm off to Blenheim today and I'll drink lots of Marlborough wine to make up for all that. That's my saviour really.
Talk soon friends!

I'm here!
Well I've arrived safe and sound in Bangkok at any rate, wahtever about the rest of the trip. Only 5 minutes ago I realised that I've been filled in the completely wrong visa for Australia and have to start from scratch. Here's hoping it comes in time...*groans*
I'd also forgotten just how humid it is over here but I can't really complain as we're having a bittova ball and flying to Koh Phangan tomorrow to meet the rest of the crew.
I have lots of news but ya know, I just don't have time for quality blogging right now. I guess you'll all just have to wait a lil bit nuntil things are sorted. Nonetheless, I'll let you know if anything dramatic happens. Talk soon friends!

Old School Style
How did we learn about all this amazing music before everyone shared it on their FB news feed? I honestly don't know. Then again, I recently found "The Lion King" on tape in an old drawer and I'm having the time listening to it in my room and feeling retro and hipsterish. Kind of inspiring. I'm going to grow a beard any second now and get huge chunky glasses while I wear my contacts lenses. After all, glasses lose all hipster appeal when they have a function. Anyways, whilst I struggle with how time consuming rewinding really is, here's a quality song I found on FB.
I've also included some of "The Lion King" for old time's sake. The bf (who's only just back from Calcutta) showed it to the kids in his school over there and despite having very little English, all the kids cried when Mufasa died. IT SIMPLY TRANSCENDS LANGUAGE. I can totally empathise and I'm going to watch it again this weekend.

Quote of the Day
'As I came across the Samuel Beckett bridge today into my mind came his words about humanity and frailty.
“Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better"
Sen David Norris.

GOT IT!
So finally the job has been sorted, which really is just about in time considering I'm flying off to Thailand this Sunday. So what's the plan? Well I'm gonna meet up with some peeps and travel around a bit in Bangkok/Koh Samui/Phangan/Tao, then head up to Cambodia for a while and meet some friends in Singapore/Kuala Lumpur afterwards. Then it's off to New Zealand with my camper van family (1 guy, 7 girls; will I survive?) for a few weeks during which time I will harness my rugby skills for the world cup. The girls have promised to teach me everything they know, apparently quite a lot! And then it's off to Adelaide for work and to earn some $$ to pay for other adventures not yet planned but in the making.
It's all just getting a little bit exciting now. Doesn't Adelaide look purty?!

Gaga Live
This really is a fantastic live rendition of "The Edge of Glory" by Gaga. Well worth a listen. And now I'm really annoyed that I didn't get to see her in Dublin a few months back, damn work. Anyways, since essentially the blog has no readership at the moment and I'm talkig to myself I'll leave it there. Promise I'll de-privatise it all once the jobbie job has been sorted! This should be soon considering I've filled in enough paperwork to adopt several children at this stage. Fingers crossed folks!

Sleep now
I've posted it before but in my current fatigued state mick Flannery will soon send me off to sleep.
I mean I simply have to fit in a disco nap before heading out again tonight.

"And then he left to go to the bathroom and I looked over at this couple having a drink near us and I whispered 'We're talking about child abuse and it's our first date' with this look of horror on my face."

The best thing about Donald Trump is that "he's stealing all the crazy oxygen from Sarah Palin" - Jon Stewart.
This is why you're on my ultra exclusive list for that celebrity dinner I'm going to hold any day now.

The Room
I'm off the the big shmoke for the weekend. As usual, it'll involve far too many drinks but I'll also be attending a screening of "The Room" (one of the leading actors will even be present!) at the Sugar Club. My standards are pretty high as it has been cited by many critics to be one of the worst movies ever made. Apparently booing and shouting at the movie is like, compoulsory or something.
Cannot.Wait.
