Good Morning Thursday

Image
If you have not realise this - Thursday is my most looked forward day of the week.

Mainly because it's Cell Group Day and I can also spend time with Baby Janine. Singing Praise and Worship to her and giving her time to listen to the WOG.

I have carried with me this little postcard which has been hanging on the door of my Mitsubishi fridge. The reason I bought this card is because long long time ago I had a friend who was facing some storms of life, I wanted to encourage her by giving her this card but I never had the chance. Therefore, it was hanging there since then but it has not only blessed me so much, it blessed a lot of friends who had visited my house, be it for dinner, toilet visit or cell group make up.

Here it goes, I hope this will bless some of you whom faithfully visit my blog...

God has not promised skies always blue, flower-strewn pathways all our lives through;
God has not promised sun without rain, joy withour sorrow, peace without pain.

But God has promised strength for the day, rest for the labour, light for the way, grace for the trials, help from above, unfailing sympathy, undying love.

I hope you will like it and find strength in Him if there are some parts of trials you are going through now. God bless.

Mid-Autumn is round the coner

Image

Mid-Autumn Enchantment (06 Oct 2006)

Mid-Autumn Festival is on the 15th moon day of the 8th Chinese Lunar Month. On this day, the moon is at its roundest and brightest, which makes moon gazing an essential part of this festival. This is also a time for lovers to tryst and be together, symbolized by the roundness of the moon.

FOODS OF THE MOONCAKE FESTIVAL
===============================
1. The Chinese word for "Pomelo" is yu, which is homophonous with that for "blessing," and thus the fruit is considered auspicious. Since pomelo season coincides with Mid-Autumn Festival, this sweet fruit has naturally become a part of the festivities.

2. Piglet Biscuits - known by the Cantonese as "Jua Zai Bang", are traditionally sold with mooncakes mainly to attract the kids. Why the baked biscuits are shaped in the form of piglets is anyone’s guess, but the colourful baskets they come in sure reminds one of real pigs trapped in rattan baskets, ready for the slaughter.
