Ciao

I've been on Blogger since I was 14 years old. I'll turn 28 this year. I'm moving onto Wordpress now. It has been a great time on Blogger thus far. Perhaps, I'll be back someday.

Spring Cleaning

As part of spring cleaning, cleared the shelves off DVDs I can dispense with. Previously, donated a number to the company's charity drive but only a handful got sold off. Threw the rest away. Keeping films which I feel deserve repeated viewings and/or represent a significant moment/memory. I need to be more prudent when buying DVDs from now on.

But to congratulate myself for working my ass off in 2012, I went out to Books Actually for a shopping spree. Bought a number of books and this:

My first ever film critique assignment back in university was on Vittoria De Sica's Bicycle Thieves. Spent countless hours in the library watching the film and then found out that some kind soul on cyberspace has uploaded the entire film on Youtube (for the benefit of the human race).

Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead

Image

Watched Lloyd Kaufman's Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead on Youtube while having fried chicken as dinner. The social satire masked by B-grade horror is such a fun movie. As one of my (many) filmmaking heroes, will be a fantastic idea to intern (volunteer without salary) with Troma films. Something I should have done during junior year, instead of trying my non-Cantonese-speaking-luck with some Hong Kong directors.

Troma Films have wonderfully uploaded a number of their films for free viewing on Youtube, including this film at the following link.
