Kim stayed at Kimberley Hotel. hehe. That's near Nathan Road, Tsim Tsa Shui. 1st impression of Hong Kong - too little space, too many people. Not a very friendly city as people have that MYOB attitude, and if u slow them down for a milli of a second, they will give you that look...U'll think they have constipation.
I thought the haze affected them as well, but see see, it's their everyday air, caused by the air-cons, car smoke, hair sprays...etc. But i'd have to admit that it's generally cleaner and ppl are more ethical, as they will actually queue up although they dont look like the type that would.

They have the la-la taste when it comes to clothes. And sad to say, that I was kinda swayed by that when i bought a few lala tshirts and skirts. was tempted to buy boots as well, even though i have one i hardly wear. luckily I did not. Kinda regret buying them lala skirts. Shit.

Apliu Street is THE place for gadget freaks like my dad. from cables to magnets, to mobile phones to DVD players.
Ladies St, or 'lui yan kai' has cheap clothes, nice boots and bags. i spent a bit there, buying pants, and t-shirts those i can wear for shoots. a bit lala, but since i've bought them, oh well. When it comes to fashion, they look up to the land of the rising sun. All the school girls have a generic look - long straightened hair that sticks to the face, fringe at eye length, swept to the side, thick rimmed glasses. minus the glasses, you see emily the strange everywhere.

Most of the signboards have english, n i always had my lil lonely planet book with me, so i didnt get as lost as i'd imagine. They do comprehend english, though they dont really speak it. I tried to speak their cantonese, but somehow, they'd know i'm not from around town. My cantonese that bad meh??

What u must not miss; Pie&Tarts' egg tarts. They are just heavenly. If u go, pls try your hardest to get me some. I had at least 2 a day. N they arent exactly cheap, but temptations, especially when it comes to food, are impossible to resist. *burp*.
Gui Ling Gao is a must, tim sum as well...oh, n smelly tofu. MUST TRY THE CHAU TAUFU ok?
There's a dish called 'char leong' - yau char guai wrapped with chee cheong fun, eaten with sweet sauce n chilli sauce. that's nice as well.

Disneyland was magical, especially the fireworks towards the evening. they light up according to rhythm of the music, n they were playing the nightmare before christmas' soundtrack. (halloween's the day after) so it was all good...one lil hiccup is that Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and the rest spoke in cantonese.

They still use bamboos for construction, just like the ones in jacky chan's movies. It's amazing that they dont fall apart. they are tied together with strings. In fact they were quite sturdy..(well, yes I tried climbing them, till my friends shouted cuz they felt embarassed)

I was told the 'poh chai fan' (leittle pot rice) near aberdeen was nice. went there one afternoon, see see u can only get them during dinner time. cilaka!!

The last day in Hong Kong was bitter sweet. sweet cuz i know i'd be back to lovely malaysia, bitter cuz i'd be going back to work. Hong Kong was a good experience.
I've tried basically everything;
- the food
- the people; i stayed with really generous friends
- the doctors; i caught the flu on my second last day there...no SARS is over
- the trips; disneyland...etc
- and all the places visitable

So there...
