Rodeo Day

Image

Porter recently had Rodeo Day at school to fit into their awesome "Texas" unit.  He learned so much and had an absolute blast with all the fun cowboy themed activities!  His preschool went ALL OUT for this event, and parents were invited to participate in their fun activities!

Porter got to ride a real horse and as you can tell by the pictures, he was in heaven!  The horse's name was Tonto and Porter acted like he had been on a horse his whole life! I was so proud of him for being so brave! He was a BIG horse! :)

The kids also did a little "square dance" where they had a partner and sang the cutest song. Porter's partner was Alex and they were precious dancing together!
They got to "rope" cattle with hula hoops! Brilliant! :)
Image
They made all sorts of fun crafts
Image
There was even a wall with their "WANTED" posters!
Image
AND....they got to make their own stick horse and have stick horse races

Here is Porter with his amazing teacher, Mrs. LuBow.  Oh how we LOVE her!!!!  She is absolutely amazing and such a wonderful teacher with a wonderful heart!

#2

Image
If Porter's first T-Ball game won't inspire me to start blogging again, nothing will!
We had the BEST time yesterday at his very first game.  The Hooligans played really well considering we hadn't even had a practice yet because of the rain!  Porter wanted to be #2.  He could not have been more excited!  Our neighbor and friend is the coach and he was great with the kids. Billy assisted coaching and had a ball himself! Porter had a big cheering section at his first game.  Pop Pop, Nanny, Uncle Billy, Aunt Stacy, Jacob and Noah.  He is happily playing with his two friends, Greyson and Landon and can't wait to make lots of new friends on the team!  It was a GORGEOUS day for opening day!  We loved every minute of it and Porter seemed like he was in his element!  GO HOOLIGANS!!!

Porter's 4th birthday!

Porter had more fun than he could handle on his birthday this year. The only way I know to sum it all up is to show you this video his Daddy created. Enjoy! :)

Dauphin Island 2011

Image
Nothing like an amazing trip to the beach to inspire you to get back into Bloggerland! :0)

We just got back from our 2nd annual Dauphin Island trip. We have officially decided that Dauphin Island will be where we spend every summer with our family from now on. Somehow, it feels like home the minute we get there. It's just perfect for us and meets every expectation for our family vacation.

I took over 500 pictures but here are several of my favorites. The memories this year were priceless!!

Porter was an excellent road tripper and could.not.wait. He anxiously ran out to the water every morning and it was usually before he took of his pjs. :0) He was in heaven from the moment we got there.
Image
We spent every possible minute outside. We worked puzzles, ate our meals, did crafts, had snacks, read books, cleaned seashells, played games and anything else that we could think of on our patio. It was HEAVEN!

Here is one of our craft projects. Sand art! Porter LOVED it!
