Swimming Lessons 2011

We have had swim lessons for two weeks now and I can't believe how much my kids have improved (at least in my eyes) in that short of time.

Image Brooke swims really well! Both my girls can swim better than me, so that's really all I wanted them to be able to do and they aren't scared of the water like their mom either so mission accomplished! Brooke just learned how to doggy paddle, in between strokes, this year to swim from one side of the pool to the other without touching the bottom.

Image This is Lacee on the left and brooke on the right learning how to dive in the water.

Image Lacee has really improved this year! She is really comfortable in the pool. We just took her today after lessons and she was doing all sorts of things in the deep end that I wouldn't do. She can also swim from one end of the pool to the other without touching the bottom. She takes a few more breathes that brooke does but is getting better and surprised us all that she could make it so quickly.

Image If I would have taken pictures last week it would have been of Logan sitting on the step watching everyone. He wasn't sure about something last week, he wasn't scared of the water I just think he was stubborn and didn't want to do it and nobody could force him to either.

But this week it's like he is a totally different boy! Him and his friend on the right are quite the pair this week. They splash each other and have their own little playtime during their lesson, which it's hard to get too mad because at least he is in the water doing what I payed for him to do ;) His teacher is a total sweetheart for putting up with 8 little kids in the pool, a big Thanks to her for her patience!

Logan B-day

Logan turned the big 4 on Sunday... He got a new bike because he has been riding his sisters old pink and purple bike. We were just going to spray paint it but we decided he needed one of his own. And of course this one fits him sooooo well!

Image Pretty proud of his new bike! It didn't stay that shiny for long, within a minute of getting on we already had a slide-out and scuffed up the handle bars :)

ImageAunt Sharley came to visit for the weekend and to celebrate his birthday, which we should have got a picture of her with Logan but I'm not too good at taking pictures. She gave him this gun which he loves but Levi and I had to try it out on each other first :)

Image We got him a remote control too. that's what he said he wanted, what he meant by it was a remote control car but he calls it his remote control...who knew boy toys could be so much fun!

Image I am not taking credit for this cake because I think I could have done a better job now that I see it (or at least made the lettering centered with the cake). Logan wanted a transFARMERS (which is how he says it) cake and I didn't really want to try my hand at making it so I called walmart to make it, thinking their cakes aren't too bad, but this wasn't the greatest, all they did was put a couple transformers on the cake, which I'm pretty sure I could have handled. I'll know better next time, all Logan cared about was that he got the transFARMERS off the cake to play with and he did so he was a happy little boy :)

Natural Rider...

It all started last Sunday when we went for a walk after church, Levi and I walking and the kids riding their bikes. Logan has this old bike that the girls used to have (hence the purple and pink bike) and it had training wheels on it. We were walking behind him and realized his training wheels weren't even touching the ground. So when we got home we asked Logan if he wanted them off and he did so Levi took them off. The very first time he got on he just took off and was riding all by himself and turning by himself in our circle driveway!

Since he is only 3, I thought he would for sure take a while to get it down but he surprised us all. Since our girls didn't learn until the summer after they were 5. The only thing he couldn't do that night was start the bike by himself, he could stop and put his feet down and turn by himself. He really wanted to go to the church parking lot and ride, so the next morning Levi took him and the first time on it he had to help him start but the next time he took off all by himself.

This does scare me since he loves motorbikes so much, I'm afraid that's what he is going to be asking for in no time at all.

Image He's so focused!

Brooke's Baptism

I can't believe my oldest is 8... It seems like just yesterday we were in Logan and bringing her home from the hospital. Ok, not yesterday but it couldn't have been 8 years ago!

Brooke is such a sweet girl! She is a really good student, I rarely have to explain things to her when she brings home homework. She is a going to be a great mom someday, she is good at cleaning and I hardly ever have to ask her to do something twice. We are so proud of Brooke for making the right decision to get baptized! We love you Brooke!

Levi baptized and confirmed Brooke that night.

Image

We are so grateful that all of Brooke's grandparents could come to the baptism!

I just spaced it that night to take pictures of everybody with Brooke, so we got this one before my parents left the next morning.

Image

Got a picture of Shad and Robyn too that morning with Brooke,

everyone else wasn't picture ready...

We had someone from Levi's school make this cake for Brooke, it tasted as good as it looked!

Lacee's Kindergarten Graduation

Congratulations Lacee!

Lacee loved kindergarten, me on the other hand will be glad to not have the half day schedule gone for a few more years, til Logan gets in school.Image
Dad took a few hours off so he could come watch Lacee's graduation!

Image

Lacee and her good friend Kylan, It seemed like everyday Lacee would ask if she could have a friend over after kindergarten, so Lacee and Kylan played a lot this year, that's one thing she'll miss about going to school all day is she won't be able to have friends over or go to friends house after school everyday...
Image

Mrs. Bowen and our carpool girls... Lacee went to morning kindergarten and we had 5 of these little girls in our carpool this year, they became all really good friends. It was nice to only have to go pick-up kindergarten one day a week.

Easter

These are all of the eggs that the kids colored--It was such a nice day outside we thought we'd take a couple pictures outside since this is the greenest our grass will be all year probably.Image

The kids each had their favorite eggs that they decorated...

Of course Logan wanted a Suzuki egg!

Image

Lacee's had her name on it, that she wrote herself!
Image

And Brooke's with the help of dad was multicolored!

Image

Lately Logan won't just smile for the camera, he has to be doing some kind of hand gestures and scrunched up goofy face...

The Easter bunny left A LOT of candy and gave the kids each an outfit for summer (if it ever gets here), they also got bubble gum and a few other things.

April Snowman...

We have had so much rain and snow late this year...It has been really cold too,

we are all ready for spring to be here. The kids keep telling me that its suppose to be spring and I tell them, trust me if I could control the weather it wouldn't be snowing in April. This snow storm was the kind that I wanted in December...really big snowflakes and very pretty afterwards. But all we got during winter was snow blowing sideways.

Image

Image

This was the perfect kind of snow to make a snowman. Brooke started rolling a small snowball in the snow and it picked it up perfectly and got bigger and bigger. She thought that was so cool.

Image

I think this was that night or next day...everything had melted but our snowman was still there!
