What is PPA Membership?
Practicing Physicians of America (PPA) is a physician-led grassroots advocacy organization supporting the professional and personal needs of working US physicians that is free to join. Through collective action, we magnify the voice of the individual practicing physician. The cornerstone of our efforts involves maintaining a healthy, transparent, and professional doctor-patient relationship without interference from third parties. Through PPA membership, you affirm our mission, join our community, and become a part of our work-group to support these efforts.
Joining PPA allows us to know more about you and your practice. By understanding things like which state you’re licensed in, what specialty you practice, and your contact information, we can update you and similarly-situated colleagues if legislative, policy, or regulatory issues arise that might affect you, your practice, or your patients. We understand physicians are busy caring for patients and may not want to get actively involved in our efforts. But becoming a member means you will allow yourself to be counted when the need arises. Many prior traditional physician organizations have significant conflicts of interest with numerous other sources of revenue like electronic medical record companies, hospital systems, and insurance companies rather than working physicians. In contradistinction, PPA is a membership organization and receives no outside funding for its operations, relying solely on donations of its membership to support our operations. All of our board members are volunteers and receive no compensation for their efforts. In other words, PPA only works for you and your patients.
