The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan

A few weeks ago, I was surfing the net with Yih Hon to google Jodi Foster (she was the voice for Maggie in The Simpsons, and he didn't know who she was or what shows she acted in, so the best way to show it to him was through our trusty imdb).

So after a few "oh... I know who she is already" moments by him, something on her imdb profile page caught my eye.

"The Amazing Chan and The Chan Clan"

I laughed my socks off!

Apparently, Jodi Foster was the voice of Anne Chan, in this cartoon series which was created in the early 70s.

"Charlie Chan investigates mysteries with "help" from his large family. A Saturday morning cartoon show for kids, this features Charlie Chan and his multitudinous progeny as they solve crimes with the help of a transforming van." (imdb.com)

Yih Hon kept saying that it's a ScoobyDoo rip off, and he's jealous that there's a cartoon series created after my family name.

*strong whispers* The Amazing Chan and The Chan Clan...

2D animation never seemed so fascinating since I saw how Chinese would always have pointy eyes and speak by pronouncing one-word-at-a-time as they solved crimes as a family. This is so cool. Gonna tell the Chan Clan back home. Miss them heaps.

Here's the complete series in Youtube. You have to watch this man...
