Showa Era Manga Artists

Showa Show: Vintage Manga Tribute Artshow 1926 - 1989

Showa era is the period of Japanese history corresponding to the reign of the Showa Emperor Hirohito, from December 25, 1926, through January 7, 1989.

Please remember that this show focuses on manga and NOT anime.

There were many artworks or projects that got inspired by the artists from Showa period.
Here are some and all times of our favorite artists that we want to share with you.

1 Osamu Tezuka  - (Astro Boy, Kimba the White Lion, Black Jack and Phoenix)

There is absolutely no denying the immense influence this artist has had on Japanese manga and anime and in turn, US comics and animation. There’s a reason he is known as THE GOD OF MANGA.
