I was trying to find something fun, cute and simple for a Mother's Day card this year for Brandon's mom and Deborah. When I came upon this butterfly card with poem, I knew I had found the perfect thing. Jonas had fun and was talking about the Butterfly the whole time we were doing it. Then I told him we were giving it to Grandma and Mima and he got even more excited, although I don't think he grasped that concept too well since when we were putting them in the envelope he got a little upset until I reminded him they were going to Grandma and Mima. he loved it and it was a VERY easy little craft project for my child whose attention span is no more than about 5 minutes if I'm lucky, unless of course it comes to jumping on a trampoline. We even worked on it while he was eating breakfast so that he would sit still for a little longer to help me. :)

shutterfly.com, it's a site worth checking out
I know it has been a long time since I've posted. I have made a lot of things but since I've gone back to work full time I haven't been able to post...so to come soon!
Anyway, I'm going to tell you all about Shutterfly today. I've already talked to several of you about them. Why do I love them you may ask? They always have the best deals around for pictures! They are a great way to share photo's with family and friends. And they have the greatest gift ideas with your pictures. If you are looking for great Christmas gift ideas for your family check them out. They have great photo albums http://www.shutterfly.com/photo-books (so your parents have something to show their friends when they are bragging about your kids), calendars http://www.shutterfly.com/calendars (this is one I've decided to make my dad for Christmas), Christmas ornaments http://www.shutterfly.com/photo-gifts/pewter-ornament and the list goes on and on. And as many of you know I love a good deal, well these guys have several good deals. And not just because it's the holidays. They are having good deals all the time! One of the great deals is getting 50 free cards to blog about how great they are (and that's easy to do because they really are so great). I've never really done Christmas cards with pictures on them but really wanted to do it this year and so of course I started putting one together on shutterfly and then my sister told me about this awesome deal. And so here you have it. If you haven't checked them out yet what are you waiting for! If you are a new customer you get 30 free prints right off the bat. So go to the site and get started!

Baby Hair Clips
Kiera taught me how to make these. We used her Cricut to cut felt out in flower shapes, then use embroidery thread to make hair bows how you want to. I doubled up the felf for the base flower or circle to make it sturdier. Then you cover the hair clips with ribbon (I used fabric glue that you can find at most craft stores, I got mine at JoAnns), then use the glue to attach the flowers to the clip. I actaully bought the headband at a craft sale. These are for a present for my friend who had a baby way back in April. I hope she will forgive me for being so slow to send these. They've been ready since before little E was born! I just hate going to the post office. So thank you Kiera for your help. If you have a site that you can post where you learned to make these clips, let me know and I'll get a link on here!

Cards
I've recently decided that to buying cards is expensive and I really like to send cards for special occasions. I have a stack of papers that I bought at JoAnnes with my 50% off coupon and have other scrapbooking items that are not being used because I never have the time and patience to go through pictures to make one. So I've decided to use all these things to make my own cards. Some occasions I still buy cards from the store; usually because I can't think of anything creative to do, but I'm really trying to think of new ideas. So here are some of the cards I've made. Two are mother's day cards and the other one I made to give to a couple that just had a baby that live down the street from us. All items like I said came from the "Stack of Paper" books that you can buy from JoAnnes. The flowers I got in a scrapbooking kit that I received for Christmas. This is a beginner's cards so don't look to close!
Kirsten is Awesome
Ok peeps. I have a lot of creative ideas but not a lot of time to do it so Kirsten is going to join me as an author of the blog where she also adds her sweet creativity. Get ready for her card post.... they are super cute!
