My sweet Atticus found me in Hawaii. Running along the side of the road--sure to become the next speed bump--my mother in law, Alex and I stopped and persuaded him to come to safety. From there it was love. He slept with me. He followed me everywhere. The kids loved him. I loved him. Tattered, scared and sick, I nursed him back to health and got him ready to return to Alaska with me. The vet believed him to be maybe 4-5 months old. Home with me he came and he thrived. Made friends with all the neighbor kids and neighbor dogs. Got into mischief, was sort of scolded and at night found himself snuggled with me again all wrongs forgotten. Sadly his time with me was going to find itself cut short. The bad combination of puppy-hood, excitability, a pitstop next to a busy hwy and a double trailered semi truck.... Atticus has gone to join our other dear family members Zeus and Eli. My heart is heavy. I find myself crying randomly. But I'm grateful for the joy he brought, I'm happy that for time he was here he had a much better life than the stranded/abandoned one he was experiencing in Hawaii. Some may think that I rescued him but really it's the other way around. For some reason he softened me and made me better. I can't wait to see you again. Thank you Atticus for letting me be your momma even if it was just for a little bit. Until then, don't let Zeus and Eli boss you around too much.
Don't quote me on this...

Remember this guy?
If you've ever seen Arrested Development {and if you haven't, are you alive?} you will definitely remember Bob Loblaw.
Well Leila likes to sing the Bob the Builder Song. It goes "Bob the Builder, can we fix it? Bob the Builder, yes we can!" This is how she sings it....
