Celebrate Mesa!

Melanie decided to come visit us after her audiology conference, so we decided to hit up Mesa's birthday party and have some fun!  The weather was not too hot yet and almost everything was free, a win win for us!

Image

There was a little train ride and carnival games.

ImageImage

The kids got to drive the fire truck!

Image

There were lots of inflatable bounce house things to play. Miles liked the ball pit version.

Image

A few super hero showed up for the party!

And the real hero's let the kids try their motorcycles.

And their helicopter.

There was dancing and live music to enjoy.

A dance contest versus the super heroes.

Hazel enjoyed walking around and seeing everything.

One of the last stops was the dress up tent. We created our very own little heroes.

After the party we came home to work on the color pages we picked up.

Have some Aunt Melanie time.

And a little birthday cake for the favorite Aunt.

Our Easter needed some more color

We are getting ready for Easter today! As per cultural tradition, we had to prepare some eggs. Each of the kids got to decorate their own set of SIX eggs(we most be crazy or something)!

This year Allie was finally ready to work on hers all by herself, and she did a fantastic job.

Image

She managed to stay pretty clean, and create some good looking eggs.

Image

Here are the finished products, along with their more beautiful creator.

Image

A close up of Allie's eggs. She went for deep colors, and a drip look.
Very masterful work.

Image

Hadley only needed a little help during the coloring process.
Rach got to be helper and photographer, so she is not pictured.

Image

Hadley was very proud of all her creations.

Image

She took her very own picture of the final products.
Great work from Hadley!
She liked solid colors with a few dots (finger spots), and some multicolored.

Image

Miles obviously needed a little help to ensure there was not total destruction of the kitchen.

So I bravely volunteered to help out.
We decided (okay, so I decided and got him to agree to it)
there should be some fun themed eggs for Miles.

ImageImage

First was the Incredible Hulk! Miles loved it sooooo much that he wanted to play with it everywhere. Unfortunately, about 3 seconds after the picture he tripped. Hence we have a real Hulk SMASH!

ImageImage

Next there was SpiderMan (complete with a face on one side and the spider logo on the other)!
Then our version of Captain America (tried to look like the shield, but may have not quite nailed this one).

Image

Our last great creation was inspired by Miles outfit.
We created a little Minion!

Image

This is the little boy dream set of Easter eggs (and Miles kind of liked it too)!

Image

Completed products for our hero themed eggs
(front row: Hulk, Minion, SpiderMan
back row: Captain America, water color, and Jackson Pollock theme).

We hope your Easter season is as much fun as ours!

Allie is 7!

As Allie likes to let everyone know, she shares the same birth date with Dr. Seuss, so for her birthday at school, they all made Dr. Seuss hats and we came to her classroom with Red and white striped doughnuts to share.

She was slightly embarrassed while they were singing happy birthday, as everyone usually is.

Later on that night we celebrated as a family with some strawberry birthday cake

She opened up her presents from the family and was super excited about them all!

For dinner, she requested Totino's Party Pizza, which is evident on Miles' face.  High quality pizza for  that girl.

Happy Birthday Allie girl! We love your happy attitude, always quick to laugh and smile.  You are super helpful, always wanting to surprise us with a chore that you did unexpectedly.  We love you to pieces!

February Moments

We were trimming our sour orange tree, taking off the rest of the fruit and the girls were carrying them to the recycling bin.  It was a sunny day and later that afternoon I noticed Hadley had these 2 red puffy burns on her neck.  I could not figure out what they were from and then, after talking with a friend, I did a little research and found out that sour orange oil is super photo-sensitive and while carrying the oranges, 2 got some oil on her next which then got super-sunburned.  They turned tan after a while, but are still there.  Crazy!

It was 90 degrees again so Miles decided that he should swim.  By swim he really meant  that he wants to throw everything in sight into the pool and then make me get them all out.  Fun!
Image

While at the park, the lighting was just right and I couldn't resist snapping this cute picture of our baby girl!
Image

We also got new windows in half of our house, the kids thought it was great entertainment!
