No news is good news :)

So it's been awhile... As always, work has been too consuming. Coupled with moving into a new house, let's just say my days have been long and hard.

So what have I been up to? Well, I survived another year end (woohoo!), got my first bonus with the company (double woohoo!), and got promoted (triplee woohoo!). Alhamdullilah for all his blessings this year. I truly couldn't ask for more.

Yasmin is growing up fast. She loves numbers and will say the numbers out loud whenever she sees them. Including in parking lots lol. Her favourite colour is purple. She knows her colours but sometimes gets confused between blue and purple. Her vocab is expanding, both English and Malay. Quite funny when her sentences get a bit rojak-ed, so Manglish!

Our house is still very empty. Quite malu to invite people over with practically nothing in the house haha. We still have boxes lying about as we haven't gotten around to unpacking them yet! But it feels good to finally have a place called home. I don't cry as much anymore when I see the monthly loan payments, seeing that it's for a good cause. Bye bye Chanel handbag, hello cabinets!

Life is good. But I miss UK/Ireland so much. Every single day.

Inspiration

So we bought a house recently. Nothing big, just a cosy nest for the three of us. It's currently undergoing renovation but I've already started looking for colour schemes for the house, particularly the living room.

I've decided to go for a 'summer in the English countryside' theme. Haha super-pretentious. Imagine blue skies, yellow daffodils, white daisies, green grass. Something along the lines of this:

But with a small toddler in the house, I don't think duck egg blue and beige sofas would be the most practical choice. Imagine her running around with her smudgy hands and doing finger printing on the sofa. *Cries*

I think a more practical choice would be plum, dark brown, black, maroon. So for now, I would probably have to put my English summer theme aside. At least until Yasmin is in school.

I wonder if I Google 'Practical living rooms for toddlers' what would come up.

Sombre

In times like these, Yasmin not yet having a baju kurung for raya morning seems so trivial.

Praying that the violence ends soon and that justice will prevail.

What a sombre raya this year will be.

Instagram

I've lost the energy to blog. Instagram is so much easier. But don't think I'll be closing down the blog. You never know, maybe inspiration will come one day and I will be on a blogging spree.

For now, kindly visit my Instagram page for regular updates. On Yasmin mostly.

Scrub a dub dub

My Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant ran out a few months ago. I've been using it religiously for the last 5 years. For some reason, I find Dermalogica products so expensive in Malaysia, so I found myself wondering around Watsons again, trying to find a cheaper but effective alternative.

In the end, I bought this.

I remember using this when I was a teenager in high school. I have to say, after a month of using this, my skin feels so fresh and clean. I use this scrub 2-3 times a week. It's great for removing your dead skin cells on your face.

I am now on a hunt for a good (and cheap) pore refining serum. My sister said the one from Estee Lauder is good but I haven't finished scouring around Watsons yet so maybe when I'm done, and I still can't find a good one, then only will I head to the Estee Lauder booth :)
