Emma's 1st Birthday Party and 12 Month Update

We had such a wonderful celebration for Miss Emma Grace and it was on her actual birthday, March 5. I decided to do a ladybug party and it was really fun to plan. The weather was beautiful and everyone ended up staying past the party time and playing outside. It was very much a success and I was able to relax and enjoy the party quite a bit myself. We had Slim's for lunch, as well as veggies, salad and fruit. The party favor was a bug net and I had ladybug decorations throughout the house. She like the cake, but true to form, she didn't demolish it or anything like that. She DID enjoy the taste though.

At 12 Months...

1. Daily Schedule:
7:00-7:30 Wake up and have a bottle
8:00 Breakfast
8:45-10:00 Nap
11:00 Bottle
12:00 Lunch
1:00-2:30/3:00 Nap
3:30 Bottle
5:30 Dinner
7:15 Bedtime bottle and down for the night

2. Clothing: 12 months, 12-18 months, 18 months

3. Diapers: size 4

4. Teeth: 5! One is about to cut though on top as well. She has 3 on the top and 2 on the bottom.

5. Movement: lots of walking behind a walker and one or two steps on her own, but no official walking yet!

6. Talking: she babbles ALL THE TIME but isn't saying too many official words yet. She will say "Mama," "Dada," "duck," "dog," "bye," and "hi."

7. When Abigail runs around the house Emma thinks it is absolutely hilarious and laughs out loud. On the other side of it, Abigail frequently takes Emma's toys and Emma will get REALLY angry at her. It has begun to surprise Abigail.

8. I love watching their relationship grow, and as Emma gets older they are really interacting more and more.

9. Emma is a lover and gives the most wonderful hugs. And I will say, she reserves some of the sweetest lovins' for her mother. :)

10. Emma's favorite foods are hot dogs, avocado, cheese, any fruit, pinto beans, and anything sweet.

11 Months

I'm doing a poor job at blogging our everyday life, but I wanted to get Emma's 11 month post into the records!

11 Months:

1. Weight: I'm guessing around 21 pounds, but I'm not sure.

2. Clothing: 12 months and 12-18 months

3. Diapers: size 4

4. Movement: Lots of fast crawling around here, walking with her walker, and the very beginnings of being able to stand on her own for a few seconds.

4. Teeth: 5 teeth! Three on the top and two on the bottom. I think that by 1 year we'll have all four front teeth on the top.

5. Daily Schedule:
7:15ish Wake up-bottle (around 4 oz)
8:00 Breakfast
9:00-10:30 Morning nap
11:00 Bottle (5 oz)
12:00 Lunch
1:00-3:00 Nap
3:00 Bottle (4-5 oz)
5:30-6:00 Dinner
7:15 Bedtime bottle and bed

6. To say that this child is sweet would be an understatement. She is literally the most good-natured little child around. She loves to give open mouth kisses and does this intense laugh that we find hilarious.

7. Emma and Abigail are really starting to interact more and it's fun to watch. She will hand Abigail toys, laugh when she does funny stuff, and generally wants to follow her around. I'm learning how to manage the sharing of toys etc, but I've got some major work to do!

8. When Emma crawls on the carpet she keeps one hand open, and the other hand in a fist, but as soon as she gets to a hard floor she opens it. It's so funny and random.

9. Talking: Her favorite word is "hi," and she says it all the time. Other "words" she can say are, Mamma, Dada, ta-da, the beginnings of uh-oh, and she pretends to talk on Abigail's play phone and holds it up to her ear.

10. I can see her milk intake decreasing as she gets closer to 1 and she is getting better and better at the sippy cup. Looking forward to switching to whole milk very soon!

We love you to the moon Emma Grace. We can't imagine life without you and you make us better by being in our family.
