More Magnification

This week has been a good week in KC. We were not too excited to get back to reality after a wonderful spring break, but nevertheless, the rest of the semester was waiting for us. I had two tests and a presentation, and Rachel worked all week as well as a KCCS Open House Thursday night. There was also the annual Midwest Dental Conference downtown that a friend and I volunteered at yesterday. At the end of spring break last week, I finally got my loupes shipped to the house. I have been anticipating their arrival for about a month, and couldn’t wait to use them for Operative class and creating cavity preps. Rachel and I tested them out at home to examine each other’s and Sooie’s teeth. We agreed that Rachel needs a pair for her newest cross-stitching interests. The threads are much more visible at 2.5X magnification. Today, the weather has reported that we should expect around 2-4” of snow! The weather people got our hopes up yesterday and Thursday by saying it was possible that we might see a foot of snow today. Compared to 12", 2-4" seems a bit uneventful. It seems everyone else here does not get excited about the snow, but Rachel and I always love it. We are, however; still waiting for our expected day off of school due to snow. I think we might be waiting till next year.

Lots of Pictures this Time!

This past weekend Mike and Kathy came to KC and it was so much fun! We had a wonderful time showing them around the city and showing them where David goes to school and where I work. They even took us out for great out-to-eats! This week has been Spring Break for David and I and we have loved every minute of it. The weather has been great and we have worked a ton in the yard. David got new patio furniture for his birthday that we found on Craig's List and we've eaten outside almost every night this week. Today David repainted the patio furniture and it looks even better. We've got the yard cut down and the flowers are all starting to come out too!

This is my newest attempt at having a green thumb. Hopefully I'll keep them alive!

Eye Viruses and Juicers

On Monday I went into the eye doctor because my eye had been red for about a week. The doctor told me that I have a virus in my eye and that white blood cells have migrated onto my cornia to fight it! I was shocked and had never even heard of anything like that. Regardless, I am taking medicated eye drops and have to wear my glasses for a week.

Last night David and I decided to do some juicing. We had 8 pounds of grapefruits from the Hen House that we got for free when I bought some juice. We hadn't been wanting to eat them so we decided to try out our juicer...and it worked great! We got a whole pitcher's worth!

Look at all that juice. We're already almost done drinking it all. Notice Sooie in the background. She obviously loves grapefruit juicing.
