We had a wonderful Father's Day weekend and Abigail and I worked hard to make David feel extra special on his 2nd Father's Day. On Friday we went up to the office and gave David a little hand-print that Abigail had made. Not only did she put her hand in it herself, but she, like a very big girl, went into Daddy's office and gave it right to him.
There were lots of Father's to celebrate, so we started on Friday night with my Dad. Dad had been out of town all week, so we had both him and Mom over to grill some chicken and just hang out. It was such a nice time. Again, I am thankful to live in Little Rock so close to our families.

On Saturday morning we decided to head out to BoBrooks Farm (the same place that we went to the pumpkin patch in the fall) and do some berry picking! With all the rain that we've been having, our expectations weren't super high, but we found plenty of berries! We got lots of blueberries and even got enough blackberries for me to make a cobbler. It didn't take Abigail long to catch on to what we were doing and she quickly got in on the action. She carried around her bucket and we would point out the blueberries that were blue and ready to be picked and she would grab them and put them in her bucket. However, it didn't take long for Abigail to realize that these were literally blueberries and that they were edible. So after a while she began to eat more than she picked and then quit picking altogether and just ate from her bucket. :) She was adorable.

On Saturday night we went over to John and Sarah's house to grill burgers and celebrate Mike. It was a nice time and not too hot to eat outside!
Sunday was David's Day of celebration and we opened presents in bed before getting ready for church. After church we went to lunch at Local Lime and it was delicious. While Abigail napped, David got the rest of our garden built. He got nice and hot, so when Abigail woke up we went to the pool! After the pool we ran a couple more errands before heading home for supper and bed.
David and I have had the best fathers that anyone could ever ask for, and now I see David being a father that any girl would be proud to have. You are love David Mitchell Rainwater.
