This Christmas was fantastic, although I am blogging it a bit late. I have been a bad blogger. BUT, in my defense, in 2013 I started making a shutterfly photo album of our whole year, as the year progressed, and as I worked on the 2014 version around the holiday time, it usually took up my "creative time," and took time away from the blog. I'm not quitting the blog, but I do have less time to do it right now. I have nap time basically, which sometimes just isn't enough. However, our Christmas was totally delightful and I want to document it.
On the weekend BEFORE Christmas, my brother Tripp and his wife Kara were in town to celebrate. We kicked off the celebrations with dinner and a ginger bread house competition. This year, David and I came out victorious! On Saturday we had breakfast, had a delicious lunch out with some extended family, Abigail napped at Mom and Dad's, we opened presents and had a delicious Christmas dinner. Abigail got a tricycle, David got some great clothes, and I got a KitchenAid mixer (among other things). It was a great day and great way to start the Christmas holiday.
After the Cashion Family Christmas, but before actual Christmas, we made a trip down to the state capital to get a couple pictures.
On Christmas Eve we ran errands, got the re-financing on our house complete and also set up some luminaries on the front walk before heading to the Christmas Eve service at church.
After the Christmas Eve service we went over to Mike and Kathy's for dinner. John and Sarah were there, as well as Ben and Abby. Once it was Abigail's bedtime we headed back to our house (a benefit of living in town with both families) and put Abigail to bed. Then my parents came over and had dessert with us!
On Christmas morning we loved waking up at our house house and doing stockings and Santa! We didn't stay at our house long though. We headed over for breakfast and presents at Mike and Kathy's before another delicous Christmas meal. While Abigail took her afternoon nap, John and Sarah headed to El Dorado, while Ben and Abby went to her parent's house. For the evening we went with Mike and Kathy to the farm to spend some time with some of David's extended family. Overall, we couldn't have had a better Christmas and really felt at home in Little Rock.
