Some actually call it the "K" word....

Reed took the day off today to be here for Christopher's first day of Kindergarten! It was big and he did great-he even road the bus right out of the shoot!! I remember observing some Mom's call it the "K" word, but I did not care for that annotation, as it left a negativity surrounding something as wonderful as Kindergarten!! Christopher has been thrilled every day since his last day of preschool to begin Kindergarten. Recess was his favorite, and they have 3 of them! Here are some shots of him this morning. I have to believe it was meant to be, because the girls slept in- giving Reed and I some very special one on one time with Christopher ALL morning long. It was a blessing!

Book wish lish for kiddos

So for upcoming birthdays I've added a book wish list for the kids here on the blog. If you click on the Usborne Books link at the top left it will take you to their site and you can search under my name to find our wishes. There is nothing we like better in this house than a great book to dig through cuddled up under our blankets. We read everyday and I've always said, the best gift is always a book!

Another for the book...

Christopher told me during reading time this morning, "Mama, I wish there was a machine that could help you cook!" When I told him that was a terrific idea and asked why he thought we needed that, he said, " because it takes a long time....and I think the machine would have long arms to reach things for me!"

Christopher says....

Yesterday Christopher announced to me, "Mama, when I grow up I want to be a doctor for animals."

Then in the bath that night we spelled out the word "man", after spelling all the "an words" (tan, pan, ran, can....you get it?) We were replacing the first letter in front of the "an" to spell a new word, and he would sound it out and then say the word. I would pause for the word to register in his mind, then he would verbal recognize that he got it by saying, "Yeah like a can! Well then came "man." Christopher said "yeah like me....I'm a man!"

Trike-a-Thon

Who knew that we would make over $3,000 for Christopher's preschool at our first ever Trike-a-thon? We did though!! Here are some shots of Christopher in action on the big day!

So Gwenn is banned from yogurt in this house! Can you guess why? I am still finding blueberry yogurt on my sheetrock!

Christopher and Gwenn actually fight over a chance to sing this song uninterrupted by the other! It's been a daily struggle, but how can you be too frustrated at what they are choosing to fight over especially with this case!!! They only sing the chorus by the way!
We love this song and sing it to Eliza Marie all throughout our day!

Happy Valentines Day!

6 months

Oh Eliza...sweet little Eliza is 6 months old now. Here's our little dollie now.Her hair lays down a little more naturally now. She's a full on finger sucker and she holds her hair at the same time, something my sister used to do. She rolls around quite a bit now - covering a lot of ground. We just love this baby!!!

Here are some shots of the kids holding baby goats at our friends farm. Christopher enjoyed chasing them around and Gwenn too. Gwenn got so frustrated when they would kick and jump up out of her lap! She just wanted to hold them so bad! She even kissed their heads.

Snow-Magedon

Snow-magedon came and went last week. It seems like it comes but once a year. We get cold, it snows, everything closes and we stay home. We fill up the bath tub just in time for the power to go out. We fire up the propane fireplace. We light the candles and eat take out pizza for dinner. We flush toilets with water from out tub and heat water on our outdoor BBQ.....yada-yada-yada! Then the power comes back on for a short time, but time enough to flush the toilets, fill up our water and bathe our bodies. Then it goes out...again..... yada-yada-yada. It was a wonderful time together as a family. Reed stayed home from work for like three days !!! The whole shipyard shut down ! Perfect, cause we had some snowmen to make, snow to eat and sledding to be had - and enjoyed!!! It was a blast. Here are some shots from the fun......
