I'm still not entirely sure of how Dreamwidth works so I can't write an informative post about how I'm using the site 😅

I can tell you that I made my first DW account on 2014 and then never touched it because Tumblr was too much fun back then. These days, I'm hoping to get back to my fandom roots of being an enthusiastic fan (rather than the lurking ghost I became in my late teens) and hopefully make some connections with other folks who love fandom.

I tend to latch onto characters harder than to the media itself, so that feels more representative... a non-exhaustive list of characters I love:

  • Miguel Alvarez (Oz)
  • Tim Drake (DCU)
  • Peter Parker (Marvel)
  • Wade Wilson (Marvel)
  • Bakugo (BNHA) [note: literally only watched the first season of the anime but he's my boy, ok? ok.]
  • Sam Winchester (Supernatural)
  • Gaara (Naruto)
  • V | Kim Taehyung (BTS RPF)
  • Peter Petrelli (Heroes)
  • Shen Wei (Guardian)
  • Lisandro Martinez (Football RPF)
  • Zoro (One Piece) [note: I'm in the middle of Arabasta in the manga please no spoilers or I will CRY]

Finally gathered enough courage to join in the fun. Took some questions from [community profile] thefridayfive because I couldn't come up with anything else to post to celebrate Three Weeks For Dreamwidth!

1. What is your all time favorite book?

I have trouble with "all time favourites" — my memory is poor, my preferences change often and I don't read much anyway. Looking at my bookshelf, I remember enjoying The Modern Faerie Tales Trilogy by Holly Black a lot.

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini is a book that took me years to get through and I wouldn't say I enjoyed it exactly, but it's stayed with me for years. Sometimes I spot the book out of the corner of my eye and I open it to certain sections I love.

Checking some ancient artifacts (the remnants of one of my Neopets petpages) I can see I wrote that my favourite book was The Last Werewolf by Glen Duncan and honestly, I forgot that book existed but I remember loving it — it wasn't like anything I'd ever read before — so I'll stand by that one.

2. What is your all time favorite movie?

Same caveats as before apply, but these are easier to list. A few of the top of my head: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Pacific Rim, Arrival, Pitch Black and Howl's Moving Castle.

3. What are you reading right now?

I'm a non-fiction fiend. I'm reading Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman. Still getting through the introduction, because I wasn't expecting the cold dose of reality the book drops on you right at the start LOL

4. What is your favorite show on TV?

Does The Pitt count? Uhm. Then uhhhm, what about the One Piece anime? I'm only at the Arabasta arc right now and I'm alternating between the anime and the manga as I please but uhhh, yeah. I've been slowly making my way through detective shows from my youth like Bones and Cold Case instead of watching new stuff. Although I also have started watching Stargate SG-1. That one is new to me at least!

5. What is the last movie you saw in the theater?

It's honestly been so long that I can't remember.
