QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

What is Read & Destroy?
Read & Destroy is an art-based initiative with the sole purpose of exposing, printing and publicizing artists, poets, and writers at no charge to anyone.

What do you mean “at no charge?”
We mean at no charge.
We print content in an easy to distribute hand-out format with materials we purchase.
Although we do accept donations;
There are no submission fee’s, no materials fee’s,
no gross production fee’s at all!

We are focused solely on sharing art and verse with the public and helping to provide a vehicle for exposing artists and circulating their work.

We do act as a third party merchant
when publishing certain books, anthologies etcetera
for authors with our press.

But the sales prices are set by the author and all royalties obtained go solely to the author.
We do not keep a cent.
We simply provide a forum to the public wherein the author can have complete control over their work and its distribution.

In what form is the material printed?
Most of our publications are printed on a standard 8 ½ inch X 11 inch piece of 22 lb paper folded in half to create a front-cover, two interior pages, and a rear-cover.
Some of our issues contain multiple poets, artists, etc. in these specific publications several pages are bound with standard issue saddle staples to create a small book.
We also constantly post material on our blog-site
http://www.readanddestroyit.blogspot.com/

How does it work?
It’s quite simple just send us your poems, artwork, short fiction etc.
And we will contact you about the series you will appear in.
We almost never reject and always comment and respond to our submitters.

Who’s behind all of this?
Read & Destroy is funded and maintained
entirely by poet and writer, Justin Parrinello
and is headquartered in Poughkeepsie, NY.

How do i submit?

with a subject line including your name and the type of submission you're sending.

I'm interested in getting a book published,
what do i do? Who do i talk to?
Email us and we'll discuss everything and create,
to the best of our ability your vision of the finished product.

If you're in a hurry to get a quick chapbook off the press and aren't don't care about the art direction, format, font or other intricacies you can skip the small talk and just send us your manuscript in the body of an email, imbedded, or in a Microsoft word attachment and we'll create and send you a stock of books and or design a website featuring the material.
