Camping

We went camping the 1st weekend in May. They kids had a lot of fun even in the cold. A cold front came in that night and it was cold. We were not prepared for cold since it was so hot when we left. We came home earlier in the day than planned but was a good time for the kids.

Thomas the Train

We had a fun time riding Thomas the Train. It was very cold that day.

Airplanes

Kyrstn, Ryder, Rylie and I went to look at 3 old WWII airplanes a P51, B24, and a B17. Kyrstn enjoyed it for the most part she was getting cold by the time we left though. I told Kyrstn where we were going and she was excited (as long as she would not miss preschool) and she grabbed her purse and was ready to go shopping. Ryder was just excited to be seeing airplanes - he loves airplanes.

Ranch Day 2009

We went to Ranch Day at the Ranching Heritage Center a couple weeks ago and the kids had a lot of fun. They learned several different things about how people lived a long time ago. There were several places that needed "ranch hands" and the kids got paid with a stamp and got to go shopping when their card was full. There was a place to cord wool and see how it is spun, make musket shots, repair a log house with mud, grind corn with a rock, make a rope and many more things.

Rylie

Rylie turned 1 March 14. She is so much fun in our house. She has the cutest little smile and wrinkles her nose. She loves her daddy and Hayden. She started crawling when she was about 11 months and has been going as fast as she can since. She is pulling up and getting braver maybe thinking about walking but would still rather crawl or be carried, she gets carried around pretty often by her older brothers and sister. She loves to eat and eat and eat. She eats more than Hayden sometimes. She is such a happy girl and just enjoys life.

Kyrstn

Kyrstn turned 5 March 1. She started 1/2 day preschool in the fall and loves it. She also goes to a parents day out Tuesdays. She is ready to start kindergarten and got to go around and meet all the kindergarten teachers the other day - I think she would rather stay with the teachers she has for preschool. She is pretty shy around people she does not know. She loves her little sister and loves to carry her around. She enjoys being outdoors, playing with her baby dolls and kitchen set and bothering her brothers.

Ryder

Ryder had his 2nd birthday November 27. He loves to be outdoors, take a bath and jump on the trampoline. He likes to look at books but only for a very short time. He loves to spend time with daddy - as long as it is not bedtime. He loves airplanes and is always trying to find one. He loves to play with balls it does not matter what kind just anything to throw and run after or try to catch.

Hayden

Hayden had his 7th birthday on October 2. He had a really good time at the Science Specturm with his friends. He loves going to there and wants to be a scientist when he grows up. He has really enjoyed being in first grade. He is a very sweet boy and loves his little sisters and brother - especially Rylie. He enjoys the outdoors using his imagination and taking things apart, and indoors playing with his tinker toys, legos and dinosaurs. He enjoys going to karate, boy scouts, church and camping. He has lost several teeth this year and thinks that is pretty neat. He has grown up so much this year and is getting ready for 2nd grade.

Rylie - I did not put in the last post about Rylies 4 month well check that we did at 5 months. She was 25 inches which was the 75% and 12.62 pounds which was the 25%. She check out very well and has been following the same growth pattern. She is 6 months old now, but we will not go back to the doctor until she is 7 months to keep her shots the correct distance apart. She is happy most of the time, loves to chew on her fingers and feet and her plug (pacifier) - kinda like she is teething but there have not been any teeth show themselves yet. She is rolling over and trying to crawl, she loves her brothers and sister especially when Hayden gets home from school. She is very ticklish, Hayden makes her laugh a lot. She loves her daddy and gets pretty excited when she sees him gets a big grin on her face.

Kyrstn - She got her cast put on and it is her favorite color - pink. She has really liked people to sign it. Before we got the cast put on she was in my cousins wedding as a greeter girl she enjoyed that - she loves to dress up. She got to go to Dalhart early with her aunt Sarah and they a good time together. Kyrstn also started at a mothers day out/preschool one day a week after she got her cast on. She has really enjoyed that and has made some more friends her age. She loves to be my little helper. Kyrstn also started her black belt training at karate. She is really enjoying it, she does prefer tumbling but they don't have it available in Abernathy right now.

Ryder - Ryder is going to the mothers day out and he has seemed to really enjoy it also. They said he did much better this week than last. He is growing and talking a little more. He loves to play with balls, watch the tractors outside and be outside. He could stay outside all the time if I would let him but the mosiquitos are terrible and they love him.

Hayden - He is growing up so quick. He loves the 1st grade and is learning so much. He enjoys holding Rylie, coloring, and inventing things. He is testing for his purple belt in karate this week and is looking forward to that. He enjoys karate and taking pictures.


We had the opportunity to go to the Panhandle - South Plains Fair this past weekend and the kids really enjoyed it. They go to ride several rides and eat some fair food, corn dogs, hot dogs, cotton candy, candy apples, funnel cakes and I don't know what else. They had a lot of fun with everyone that got to go with us. Then we went back on Monday when students and teachers got in free to look at the exhibits and Hayden found several things that he thought he really needed and said he was going to bring his money next time we go back.
