We just got back from Wichita, Kansas where we were able to share in a very special promotion ceremony for my brother, Robbie. He was promoted to Major which is such an accomplishment - we are so proud!!! Congrats, Rob. Here are a few pictures of the ceremony, and our family. We were also able to take a tour of a KC 135, which was pretty cool!

Viva Las Vegas

Image
We had so much fun in Las Vegas! We stayed for a few nights on our way out to California for a tournament. We walked around, checked out the new casinos, did some sightseeing, shopped, and of course watched the fountains at the Bellagio (several times)! Oh, and we won $80 playing black jack! Well, okay, I lost $40 and Rich saved us by winning $80. Rich's grandmother, GaGa had given us a twenty and told us to bring home a little more than that. :-) Thanks GaGa, we walked out winners!!! Here is a picture of Rich at the entrance of the "Wynn" and a short clip of the fountains at the "Bellagio". So fun!!

time for a trim

Image
Rich's hair has gotten pretty long, long enough that his hat didn't fit. So, it was time for a trim and we just happened to be in Midland, TX. He we are, outside the "Plaza Inn" right before the cut. I could have made a little extra $ with all of the people walking by that wanted my services too!!

The Sanchelli's & Flat Stanley

Image
Image
Image
After playing in Charleston, SC we drove to Greenville to spend the evening with some of our greatest friends, the Sanchelli's. Unfortunately we did not get to see Nolley but we did get to spend some time with Jimmy and their adorable little boy, Will. He even let me swing on his Big Swing! Will is so much fun that we wanted to take him with us but since he has to go to school, we had to settle for Flat Stanley. Flat Stanley was a project of Will's and we got to take him on our travels for a week. He went everywhere with us. We got a kick out of our little traveling buddy. He was even there to help when we had car trouble. (Flat Stanley is the little one that is well, flat!)

Big Cedar Lodge

Image
Image
Rich played in a tournament in Springfield, MO this week. So we stayed in Branson at Big Cedar Lodge and just drove back and forth. It was such a neat place and we got to spend time with the Thompson's and the Morris'. We had such a great time sightseeing, swimming, paddle boating, going on nature walks and then trying to find our way back (thankfully Dad had his maps), cooking out, and just relaxing. Oh, yah and a little golf! Here are a few pics of the week. Of course, Dick was not behaving so there were several takes of the group picture.

St Louis, MO

Image
We spent the night in St Louis while celebrating my 30th Birthday! Whew, that was a tough day for me. :-) Here we are on top of our hotel. We really did have a great time and I was even surprised by my parents later that day with cake and everything. Thanks for a day I will always remember.

Bed and Breakfast

Image
Image
Image
As much as we travel, we never stay in Bed and Breakfasts. I am not sure why, but they are typically more difficult to find and well, we don't usually eat breakfast. But after this stay, we will most definitely do it again. Thanks to Dana's hard work, we were able to stay the night at this adorable bed and breakfast "The Stone House Inn" which is located outside of Philadelphia, PA.(we were on our way to a golf tournament in Scranton, PA) We loved it!! It was warm and inviting (much different than a hotel room) and I will have to say that we "for sure" got up for the breakfast even though we only got about four hours of sleep. It was so yummy - very much worth getting up for!

Birthday Fun!

Image
Image
Here are a few pictures of Rich, myself, and my parents in Springfield, Mo. Rich had actually planned a surprise party back in Fayetteville, but we ended up leaving earlier than we had planned for a golf tournament in Columbus, OH. He was pretty disappointed that he had to cancel it, so he did his best to make the day special, and it certainly was.

Chicago, IL

Image
Image
We had a tournament in Chicago so mom drove up with me from Fayetteville a few days early. We had a super fun time, shopping, taking the public transportation like the blue line, sight seeing(we road the triple decker trolley and got a great tour of the city), and eating some really delicious food(including a few slices of the famous Chicago style pizza from Giordano' and popcorn from Garrett's). We ate dinner one night, once Rich arrived at Harry Caray's(you know the Hall of Fame baseball announcer?!!). We were told it was one of "the" places to eat while in Chicago. So we tried it out and loved it.....mmm yummy!!! It was our first trip to Chicago and one we will always remember.

just a little proud.....

Image
We love all of our nieces and nephews so much. But, we really love this picture of our nieces - Hampton and Evie. Hampton will turn two in August and Evie is just over 5 months old. They are both so adorable and have added so much joy to our lives. Jen made their dresses especially for the 4th and you will be able to find them at loolabelle.com soon. Aren't they cute??!!!

happy fathers day!

Image
Unfortunately we missed the cut in Minnesota but the good thing was that we were able to go home to Kansas to be with Rich's dad on fathers day.(and the rest of our family) We kinda pulled one of Dick's specialties - we surprised him!!! We got to spend time with the kiddos, take a tour of my brother's new home, and the boys got to go golfing.
