two of a kind

Image
Oh how precious these two little girls are......These are the beautiful "twin" daughters of our great friends Chris and Misty Flynt. We were so excited to spend the evening with the Flynt family, we love them dearly. Here I am holding Bailey and sitting beside Kennedy. They are already over a month old and are getting so big....I can't wait to hold them again, and of course hug on that little Carter too!

rice cereal..yum yum!

On December 24th, because I had to wait until Sallie was exactly 4 months old, she tried her first little bit of rice cereal. We were at my parents for Christmas and we had so much fun watching and waiting to see how she would do. She did pretty good, I mean most of it ended up on her bib. Isn't that how is is supposed to go? I think I had it so watered down we should have just fed it to her from a bottle, but hey...I am a new mom. I can't believe at that time she was 4 months old and now as I sit here writing this entry....she is 5 months. (I am sure this is some indication on how late I will be with documenting her many milestones down the road:-) Sallie loves to smile, eat rice cereal, roll over from her tummy to her back (we are still working on the back to tummy), laugh, grab anything she sees and put it in her mouth, drink water from a glass, squeal (wonder how long this will last), sit in her bumbo and sleep in her swing...hey whatever works right? She weighed 14lbs. 40z at her 4 month checkup and has since jumped up to 16 llbs. 12 oz. She is so much fun!

I know I am so late in posting this.....but, better late than never, right?? We had a wonderful time with my mom, dad, brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew at our home the weekend before Christmas. The babies just love playing together, well..maybe not yet, but they will one day. We had a great couple of days, opening gifts, laughing, and of course eating!!

This post is even extra special because it has pictures of my amazing brother. He was deployed on the 21st of January and will be in Qatar for 4 months. He is a major in the United States Airforce and I am so honored to call him my brother. I have always been thankful for his love, support and friendship but today I am especially grateful for his service, as well as all of the many other men and women who protect our country. I sure love you, Rob.

Morris Family Christmas

Image
The week after Christmas, we traveled to Kansas to spend some time with the Morris Family. We all gathered at the Hinz home where we enjoyed some amazing appetizers. Dana, who never does anything halfway, prepared the most delicious strawberry salad that was served in adorable little edible dishes made out of filo dough....yum yum! And Jennifer, how about those sausage stars. We had such a wonderful time in the "New Hinz Home" which is so gorgeous. I just wish I could decorate like this girl. Thanks for such a fun evening!!

Sweets for Santa

My friend Jill, made Sallie this adorable plate especially for "Santa Sweets." Sallie didn't so much know why she was placing yummy treats on this plate, but since she is so in to grabbing for things these days, we had a hard time keeping them there. Thanks Jill, Santa loved his new plate and says he looks forward to what it will be filled with next year.

1st Christmas!

We had such a fun Christmas this year. Although Sallie had no idea what was going on, we sure did! And we had the best time watching her touch, gaze, and smile at her new gifts. My parents made it so wonderful...from delicious meals, to spectacular gifts (we now have a video camera to capture all of Sallies fun milestones, thank you so much mom and dad) This year was very special because of our little joy that is now a part of our lives, she has brought us so much happiness and we are so grateful. We have also taken time to remember what this time of year is truly about. We celebrated the birth of our Lord and Savior, which is the true gift. For Him we are forever thankful. We hope everyone had a Blessed Christmas Season.

Here are a few pictures from our special day that we spent in Arkadelphia with my parents. As you can see, Sallie was super excited to hop on her new toy....Lily the Lamb. (this was an adorable gift from my "gg and pap" that I was even surprised by)
