go baby go....

The past few weeks have been big ones for us.... crawling, coughing, runny nose, fever and a double ear infection, yuck! Her two cousins have struggled with ear infections for a while now and Sallie just got her first. She had been feeling a little puny since Friday and on Monday the doctor confirmed what we thought was the case. She is on an antibiotic now and is already starting to feel much better.

Sallie is so much fun. She smiles a lot and thinks her dad is pretty funny, likes to pull her self up to standing, doesn't mind her car seat - woohoo!, crawls all over using her knees and hands now, has slept through the night for the past three nights(8pm-6:45am), stands up in her crib, look out the window at the front door, loves to play with the wipes box, chew on the remote control, and bite on my car keys(not sure why we have so many toys) and crawl up the stairs.....she is pretty active (not sure where she gets that from :-)

Here is Sallie crawling after her dad.

We had such a wonderful weekend. The Hinz family came to visit us from Wichita and arrived on Friday night so it was quick to bed. I was early to rise (leaving before everyone crawled out of the bisquit) because one of my good friends, Amy (my running buddy) and myself ran the 5K Race for the Cure. It was amazing! 18, 000 participants including survivors and lots of pink....It was really neat to be a part of the cure and see so many doing the same. When we showed up, we both realized we had no pink on. So thankfully, they were handing out "capes for the cure" and we thought it was a nice touch. However, it sure didnt' help with run.....I was a little slow and had to let my "running buddy" go on ahead of me. Oh well, it was still a great morning......

After a quick shower, the girls were off to shop, eat lunch, and shop some more. That is what we do best! Jen is so talented and gives me the best ideas from decorating to sewing (which was the treat for this weekend.) We picked out fabric and she helped me make the most adorable capris for Sallie (see picture below). Thanks Jen. I still have quite a ways to go to be as good as she is, but I will sure try.

We always have such a great time with Jen, Trev, and Evie and can't wait till we are together again. Here are few pictures of the weekend. I look at them and can't believe how big Evie is...she is already 2 years old and it seems like yesterday she was born. And Sallie turned a whole 8 months old on Friday, wow! Glad we got these pictures in between Evie playing Uncle Chi Chi's guitar....think she has found her calling!

Easter Fun!

We had such a wonderful Easter this year, despite the fact that Rich was out of town. It was Sallie's very first and we headed to Arkadelphia Thursday night for the weekend. We spent Saturday morning at the FUMC Easter Festival. Games, story time, and egg hunting....all of which I thought Sallie would not be too impressed with. She loved it! Watching all of the people, dying her very own Easter egg, and hunting for eggs. (she kept finding the same three over and over and loved putting them in her mouth, of course)

It was raining super hard on Easter morning, yuck...which is why I don't have as many pictures as I would have liked. I met my dad at the annual sunrise service and a few hours later we headed to church. Here are a few pictures of the weekend. We were all so excited to find that the Easter bunny did come to see us and here are a few pictures of Sallie with her basket, and the ears Rich sent for her. What a great weekend and such a special time to remember what HE did for us.
