utter chaos.

We've been waiting for this for a very long time.
In just a few days, it will be "utter chaos" at our house.
All 5 of the Lytle boys and their families
will be here together for the first time in almost 9 years!
Some of the little cousins have never even met before.
This is how our group looked the last time
we were all together - Nov 2003:

Since this picture, we've had 10 {soon to be 11}
grandchildren and 3 in-laws join the family!
Out of our combined family of 9 children,
only one will be missing:
Amie & Roland, who are in France.
They will definitely be missed.

Let the utter chaos begin!

p.s... apparently, things could get a little crazy
in the Lytle home when Richard & Missy were raising 5 boys.
They say that Richard would frequently go a little
out of his mind and say
"this is utter chaos!"
Hmm. Can you picture it??

Race for the Cure.. for Missy and me.

My mother's day weekend always
begins with the annual
Race for the Cure.
This year marked my 12th year
as a survivor.
I feel so lucky!

I had lots of little cheerleaders:

and cheering from across the world:

it didn't seem quite the same without
these four on the sidelines...
we missed you!

I think of Missy as I run...
what a blessing her family
is in my life.

Here's to another year...
and many more to come:)

I run for life!

{a special thank you to Roland, who ran with me across the world at the exact same time... so that he and I could still share this special run together! he finished his 5k in 24 minutes! wow.  i finished 4 minutes after that...}

little personalities

this picture was taken in
a lovely park
in Lyon.

it pretty much sums up
these two little personalities:

Image

Emilie: careful, cautious, thoughtful.
Lydie: daring, energetic, fearless.

all good qualities...
just very different.

i am in love with this picture!

{thank you Lindsay, for snapping this one!}

the french markets

Amie is so lucky.
She can walk to this lovely outdoor market
to buy all of her produce, cheese, eggs and milk.
oh, and lovely flowers, too!

all of the produce is grown locally
and most of it is organic.
I just love the little chalkboard signs...
so very charming.
oh that I could walk to a french market
anytime that I needed some
delicious food.

lucky Lepores!
