This is Jackson when he was a little baby. It was the day after we brought him home and he was so tiny and fluffy. He was about 6 weeks old. For the first few weeks I was overwhelmed by how much responsibility he was and several times I talked to Nate about giving him back. I was totally unprepaired for the crying, feeding, pottying, and nipping. I read some "puppies for dummies" books and they made me feel like I was not doing enough for him. Then I found the puppy class. It was 6 weeks later, but I was still so frustrated and lost. Puppy class really helped. They told me what to do when he was nipping, they told me I was doing the right things. I mean, look at that face. I would look at it and think what am I supposed to do now? I thought he would know that I didn't know what I was doing and he would be disappointed in me. Yeah, he is a dog, but when I took him home I made a commitment to keep him safe, healthy, loved, and trained. Now we have started the obedience training and he and I are doing much better. I would recommend both puppy class and obedience class to anyone with a dog. He has really grown up. I am glad I didn't give him back.
