These are the women who gathered for the Brenke Beach Weekend..

We laughed...

We cried..

We missed my mom, Jeane...
We are counting on Aunt Shepp to come in November..

We prayed...

We gained renewed strength...

We learned with God 's help we are Brenke's because of some special women on Row 2...

They taught us..They loved us...They helped us know that FAMILY is important...

They gave us a family history to be proud of..

They taught us that no obstacle is too big..

We are Brenke Women and we are proud of our heritage...

Aunt Evelyn challenged us to set a goal...

Thanks for a great time together ..until we meet in November..

Keep your goal in sight...

And the WINNER is....? ? ? ? ?

A Tribute to my husbands mom from the eyes of a DIL !!!

Dee's mother , know to me as Mrs. Brookshire is a true Southern woman. She is one of a few left in the entire South. She is know as a LADY..I have never heard a "bad word " come from her lips. I wish I could say the same. She never talks about un -lady like things. My girls and I are very open to discussions about subject matter than is less than desirable, but Mrs. B. came from the old times and certain things remain unspeakable. She retains such dignity and is a role model for her family and grandchildren. I also have never been served an alcoholic drink in her home. Drinking is something she just does not partake in although she has become more tolerant with it as the grandchildren have gotten older. To think of the things she has seen in her lifetime amaze me. She is STRONG...She has been through some big stuff but held her head high and kept praying until she reunited a broken family. She did it quietly and it took many years but she worked hard and did a lot of forgiving and in the end she taught us all not to give up. She taught us that prayer works and she taught her SON that family is important.

She is a devoted member of her church. She doesn't need fancy Beth Moore Bible Studies. The pages of her favorite book are thin from reading them over and over. She still sits on the same pew at 15th avenue Baptist and has lots of young friends . She has seen many pastors come and go but she faithfully serves and has prayed for many that have been there over the years. She taught her son to put God first...She made him go to church at times..She wasn't scared that he didn't like it.She watched him fall away from his regular attendance during his college years but knew he would come back and serve his God and church. She let him see her pray and read her Bible and is an example. She did it quietly and didn't preach..But end the end he learned from her that God is first.

She helps other people..She has gone to the nursing home and visited friends of friends for as long as I can remember. She always has a little something in her bag that would cheer them up. Her little somethings have also blessed her family. It could be be something as big as a week of a baby nurse or a gift of her choice from one of her favorite catalogs. I talking good stuff...She has always picked out special things she hears us say we want during the year. She listens and then magically when you least expect , a gift you wanted is right before you.

She has Great Taste...She knows about crystal, china ,silver, and has the most beautiful clothes. She has maintained her figure and still looks so fab. I have only seen her in a swimsuit once ,but she is amazing when it comes to looking good. She looks the same as she did when I started dating her son. I am not kidding. Ageless...She still gets her hair done even when we go to the beach for a week.

Although we are very different , she loves me . That is big..I can be very unlovable at times but she has hung in there and taught me many things. Her strength and courage are remarkable.. Her son loves her with all his heart. They have a special relationship and they talk often. He loves taking care of her.So..Happy Mothers Day to Mrs. Brookshire, a mom to 4, a grandmother to 12 and 8 spouses , a great grandmother to 7 and two on the way. She NEVER forgets a birthday for any of us including the grandchildren 's spouses..Thanks for teaching your son many things that help to make us a Happy Family.

Happy Mothers Day to all of you out there who are moms. Hope you have a great day.

Loving you ..

What Little Boys are made of...

I am slowing discovering the joys of a little boy ..

Brooks will turn two in May ..He is so different from his little sister..Mary Fuller is sugar and spice and everything nice...She has crossed her legs in her car seat since she could sit up.

Brooks loves anything that has wheels.. he runs..he says the word..poo poo..stinky and laughs his head off....

He is tender and sweet and you can tell he loves his MaMa in a special way. .

He is not near as verbal as Mary Fuller was at his age but you can tell he understands everything going on around him..

Just like any man, he has few words but when he speaks we all listen !

When we were in Disney we were riding this big train, as soon as we got off he hit the ground and I was like Brooks..what are you doing ? He was looking at the wheels...it just cracks me up..

He takes his trucks and jams them together and when they don't do what he wants..he gets mad..mad like a man....

This discovery comes to me slowly because I have been a mother of girls...they come with an attitude..not our little boy..

He is just precious.....he loves his PaPa..they have this connection..I am not sure if it is the blackberry he lets him play with or that Brooks was named after him. Brooks lights up when Dee walks in the door.

I am sure this comes as no big Revelation to you that have sons and grandsons but there is something so special about this little man in our life.

So when you see me throwing the ball and sitting at his T- ball game sweating and playing with him at the beach and getting on my floor to play trucks with him ..you will know I have fallen in love with our grandson.

So snips and snails and puppy dog tails..It is all true..that is what our little man is made of.

Loving you all...

Dear Freinds...I have developed a new addiction !

Dearest Peeps

I have just about forgotten who you are..I have developed another addiction. Her name is FaceBook. She has connected me with some old friends from my past. Friends that I went to elementary school with, Other friends that I pledged Kappa Delta with, people who have rocked my world from the past. People who I walked the halls of Hattiesburg High School with, others who are new friends. She provides instant gratification because of the comments I receive.

I still love you bloggers but my bloggie friends out there are afraid to comment and I love and live for comments. It's just who I am. I will try and do better and keep you posted on life. In case you are on FB ..ask me to be your friend ! I love to be in the know of what is going on in all your lives. Will post soon about our Disney Trip.We have a great time.

Loving you all....

Robin
