Texas Snow Day

February 11, 2010, was a record-breaking snow day for DFW. We have NEVER seen this much snow! The Dallas / Fort Worth area got 12.5 inches (32 cm) of snow in one day! The snow started early, around 3am. We got up at 7am and saw of the blanket of snow everywhere! Amazing. Beautiful. The kids were looking out the window with this look of wonderment! Natalie kept saying, "it's snowing outside," and Ryan saying "da, da, da." Of course, we had to go outside and enjoy it ;)

Ryan was taking his morning nap, so I took Natalie out to play with the snow! She was so giddy! She made snowballs and footprints in the snow. So cute!

Later, after both their afternoon naps, I took them outside again and they enjoyed playing in the snow together!

Poor Daddy had to work, but came home early; just in time to build our snow man - yay! Here Alain rolling out a huge snow ball for the base of our snow man. Natalie helped Daddy collect snow in her bucket. I thought it was cute that she asked me for her beach bucket, shovel, and rake. She remembered building her sand castles during our vacation in Mexico ;)

Alain was very proud of his creation...maybe a little too much - Ha!
