We were fortunate enough to be able to drive down to CA back around the
4th of July. It was really nice to be with some of our family, and the kids LOVED
spending time with my parents and brother. We even ended up being able
to see some extended family members who were visiting from Utah. We didn't get to meet up with several of the people we had hoped to visit on this trip because we were SO busy, but it was still nice to have a
break from "real life" for a while!
While we were visiting, my parents' neighbor gave us free tickets to a minor league baseball game. I think it's safe to say the game was probably the highlight of my baseball-loving husband's trip. :-) We sat right behind home plate, which made the experience that much more fun! The kids behaved really well but were ready to go home right around the 7th inning. I felt bad Ross didn't get to enjoy the whole game, but he was a good sport.
We also camped in my parents' backyard while we were there. The kids had a blast roasted hot dogs, making s'mores, and watching a movie (then sleeping) in the tent.
