Angela & I Run the Race For The Cure 5K

ImageWhen Angela realized she would be in town during the Susan B. Komen's, Race For The Cure 5K, she suggested the idea that a bunch of us girls should run it together. Especially since it is for Breast Cancer. The Stevens Family girls also did it...I wish I had a picture of all of us. Thanks for everyone for supporting me & Joyce Forman (Grandma to the Steven's Clan who was diagnosed with breast cancer the summer before me). The team was called, "Joy Ful Lee". In the past few years I thought it would be fun to run a marathon but a 5K would be a great place to begin. I started training about a month and a half ago. I have never run 3 miles before so this was a good goal for me. My training run is the loop here in Hillsdale which is 2.2 miles with 2 good size hills. I thought if I could run that then I would be able to do a 5K on a flat course. I am kind of proud of myself....I did it and didn't even have to stop at all during the run. I finished with a 10 minute a mile average. I was just happy to finish. Angela did awesome! She's use to the marathons like Kristie. Kristie is still recouperating from the Boston Marathon and Lacey wasn't allowed to run it since she is in High School Track. I'm not sure why they have that rule but next year we will probably all do it. It was fun! I got a special medal for being a survivor and for participating. There were over 10,000 people either running or walking the 5K.

ImageHere is a neat picture of my wonderful husband Rick who has supported me all through this cancer thing. He is so good to me. I love him so much! I am so blessed!

ImageHere is the rest of the family supporting us as we ran by. It was Tom's birthday today. We had a fun celebration after it was over. Note, Cole's black hair. Yep, he dyed it while at a friend's house a few weeks ago. Ya, I think he just wants to be like me with my dark wig.

ImageWhat a beautiful day! What a wonderful supportive family. Thanks to my family for helping to push me as I trained for this race. You guys are awesome! I am truly blessed!

Babysitting the Boys!

Angela & Jeff were planning on taking a trip to Mexico so they could take advantage of getting away for a few days alone and the best part was, I would get to tend the boys and spoil them. Anyway, with the Swine Flu outbreak, they ended up sending Rick's parents home from their mission 2 weeks early and Jeff & Angela had to redo plans and went to Vegas instead. At first, I was a little worried thinking that I was going to miss out on my babysitting week, but it worked out. Here are some fun pictures.

ImageHere's Lacey & I and the boys just outside the pet store.

ImageHere is Caleb pretending to be Grandpa Tanner. He was so serious in Grandpa's glasses! What a cutie!

ImageWe made some awesome paper airplanes and flew them inside & out. It was a race to see if they could catch them before Matthew did and smashed them. If they got smashed, Grandma just made them another one.....no big deal. They then realized it wasn't too tragic.
ImageCarly has been the happiest dog in the world with a never-ending supply of balls being tossed. What a great sport she is! She will let Matthew sit on her and pull her tail and everything. You just don't find better dogs for children than a golden retriever like Carly!
ImageWe have a little doon buggy/4 wheeler in the back yard. Cole is trying to get it fixed but for right now it's a great toy for the grand boys and they enjoy pushing each other around and pretending that it works. Hey, this way it is totally safe. Maybe it's a good thing that it doesn't work right now and they are building muscles pushing each other around.

ImageTammi, Kenlee & Kylee came for the weekend so Kylee could go to prom with Ashley & Austin and their friend. It was fun to have them here for a few minutes and see the boys.

Having Some Great Times!

We have been having so much fun with our kids here. We've also had some great laughs! Jacob and Caleb were eating carrots and Jacob thought that chewing them up and spitting them on Caleb would be great fun. I'm surprised Caleb was such a good sport. Angela & I couldn't resist snapping this one for memories. Talk about a bulls eye!

ImageJohnny, Jeff's brother just finished his mission to Argentina. He also happens to be one of Houston's best friends. Angela & I & the boys went to the airport to welcome him home. He sure looks great huh? Boy, you can sure see his resemblance to Jeff huh?

ImageThe boys enjoyed this fountain at the Airport. It kept them busy while we waited for Johnny!

ImageWe got a good taste of what it will be like in 3 months when we welcome Houston home from his mission. Houston had told Johnny to give me a big hug from him. I'll tell you, that started the emotions. I know it is going by fast now but I feel like I'm still guarding my heart until it's really here. It's like you have to do that to get through. I guess it's how I try to be tough.....no tears.

ImageHere are one set of happy parents! They are now done sending all of their children on missions! What a great accomplishment Jim & Lori! We love you!

ImageHere are the boys watching a movie together. I couldn't help from snapping this one. Especially from two tough boys! They really are softies! Oh I sure love these boys!

Kristie's Graduation from BYU!

Kristie finished her degree in Fitness & Wellness and graduated on April 24th. Rick & I were able to go down to BYU and be there as she received her diploma! Wow! What an accomplishment! We are so proud of you Kristie!

ImageImageShe just finished running the Boston Marathon just 4 days before that. Talk about stacking the week with accomplisments! Her finish time was 3:34. Pretty amazing!

ImageShe & Tom flew out to Boston and were able to spend some time with his parents while they were there. How fun! The McConnons are so good to her! We love them a ton!

ImageTom graduated last winter so they are both done now. What a cute couple huh! We had fun celebrating with them and went out to dinner in Park City to an awesome Thai food restaurant. Nathan & Kendra came with us. We sure love those guys! Kendra looks so cute pregnant. Hey, now with no homework to do maybe we will see more of our kids?

Grandma's Treatment with the Boys!

Since Angela & the boys were here I thought it would be fun to take them with me so I could show them off to my nurses. I'm kind of a proud Grandma. They also got to watch me get my treatment of herceptin. They are use to doctors & hospitals anyway with Jeff being in the medical field so they were so good.

ImageBefore we left for the treatment, I put on my wig. I had worn a hat to the airport so they hadn't seen the wig yet. When Caleb saw me in the wig he said, "I don't know you." I said, "Caleb, it's Grandma." He said, "I don't like that one. I want you to wear your Grandma hat." So here I am with Caleb's favorite hat.

Image
ImageEven though we were there for an hour you can see how good the boys were....maybe a little bored, but the nurses did reward them with cookies and juice right after this picture. Cute huh?

Easter 2008!

ImageAs you can see from this funny picture......Lacey & Cole were very excited that they are still kids and get to have have fun finding treats that the Easter Bunny left.

ImageI think that Cole was especially excited that he found the most. I think that he needs his hair cut! What do you think?! He wants to dye it. All I can say is his hair grows much faster than mine. We love you Cole!

Lacey's Senior Prom

ImageIt's hard to believe, but this is Lacey's last prom & last dance of High School. She looked beautiful tonight in her dress that we found at Mariposa when they were closing out. We got it for a great deal. I put the sleeve/straps on it from some material we got at another store. We love you Lacey!
ImageThis is Lacey's date, Jay Smack. They are fun friends as you can see. They doubled with cousin Megan Tanner, and her date Quinn Hugentobler who joined them for part of the festivities. We'll try and post pictures of the group later.

ImageThis is a cute one of Lacey & Dad giving each other a "High 5". What a cute Dad & Daughter!

ImageHere is Lacey showing us a little of her personality. She is pretty spunky. She and her date, Jay were put up for Prom King & Queen. That was quite an honor. Lacey didn't win but was sure excited for the girl that did. Jay did end up winning King. That was cool!

Kathy's Birthday/Sister's Retreat

ImageWe all flew down to Arizona on April 5th to surprise Kathy for an early birthday celebration. Debbie wasn't able to fly in until Monday. This is a surprised Kathy arriving at the airport to pick up (only) Tammi for a visit. She was surprised to see all of us there. Happy Birthday Kathy! We Love You!

ImageWe enjoyed a nice 90 degree afternoon on the first day in Arizona. We enjoyed putting on our swim suits and sitting out in the sunshine hoping to get some kind of a tan. It was just nice to sit and talk and enjoy the warmth with each other and Heidi's cute girls. I even got a really nice toe nail painting by Sydney. Sadly, I didn't get a picture of it. My toenails still look pretty Sydney! Thank you!

ImageThis is a beautiful picture of our handsome Dad and one of his precious granddaughters, Londyn. I sure wish I could get a picture of each granddaughter with their sweet Grandpa Haworth. We love you Dad!
ImageHere is our beautiful Mother with another precious granddaughter, Taylor. We have the most beautiful parents! We love you Mom & Dad! Doesn't Mom look so pretty in blue?!

ImageHere's a cute one of our birthday sister, Kathy and Heidi & Terri. This evening Alan grilled us some yummy chicken & steak that Heidi had marinated for dinner. It was such a wonderful meal. We ate and then had a fun family night of sharing our love & fun memories of Kathy. Who doesn't love Kathy?! She is so awesome and amazing! We are so grateful you are our sister Kathy! Thanks Alan, Kathy, Heidi, Jon & Family for letting us be in your homes.

ImageWe did happen to get everyone in a shot together. We had so much fun! We are so blessed to have each other! I don't think that there are 7 more girls that love each other more than we do and parents that love as much as ours. We love you Mom & Dad!

ImageHere we are at the Mesa Temple grounds waiting for the Easter Pageant to start. Gratefully, one of Kathy & Alan's friends helped save us seats until we got there and then we took over and helped save seats for Heidi & Mom & Dad. It was a wonderful pageant on our Savior's life. What a wonderful tribute and right before Easter made it even more special. We had so much fun. We flew home the next day. I am so blessed! Thank you all for being the greatest! Thank you Rick & family for letting me go and helping out at home. I love you all tons!
