Kennedy Marie

Finally, introducing Kennedy Marie!! She was born on May 3rd at 5:09pm.  She weighed 7 pounds 13 ounces (my biggest baby) and was 20 inches long.  The birth story was pretty simple, just the way I like it.  My due date was Friday was May 10th, but since early on in my pregnancy I was planning on getting induced a week early. My OB had told me when I was 8 weeks along, that she had no problem inducing me a week early, especially with Taylor's quick delivery. I knew that come 39 weeks, I would be so ready to be done being pregnant and I was!!

VERY early, Friday morning Russ and I headed over to Good Samaritan hospital to start my induction.  We got to the hospital a little after 5am.  I got admitted and by 6:15, my Pitocin was started. I needed to get to 2 rounds of antibiotics before I delivered and the antibiotics needed to be 4 hours apart, so they didn't break my water at this time. At around 12, I got my epidural, even though my contractions weren't painful yet, but in preparation for the doctor to come in and break my water a few minutes later. The doctor came by at around 4:15 and "checked" me, I was close to being "complete."  They turned me on my other side and by 4:45, I was feeling lots of pressure. :)

They called the doctor to come and have a baby. They got all set-up and when they gave me the go ahead to start pushing, I gave 2 pushes and there she was! My sweet baby girl! I couldn't believe that it only took 2 pushes, I was getting ready for the half hour long pushing session and wham-bahm she was here! It was great! So, like I said nothing exciting at all...just like my labor and delivery with Lindsey pain free and a great experience.  I sure do love my epidurals!! :)  The only downside was that I was "laboring" all day long.  I thought (and told everyone) that I would have a quick delivery...I guess I had to eat my words just a little bit!!

Taylor was refusing to take a picture with Lindsey and Kennedy. This was the only way she would "hold" Kennedy, right by me.

Later that evening, Katie came by with Logan. We had to get a picture of Logan and Kennedy together. They are 10 days apart! Kennedy looks huge next to Logan and he's 10 days older!!

The next day, the girls came back to visit and Taylor was in a much better mood.  We finally got a picture of the girls all together.

We left 23 hours after she was born. It was time to get home and be with my girls, before they left for Grand Junction the next day.

Life has been great the last 2 weeks. Just adjusting and getting used to this new addition to our family. My mother in law took the girls to Grand Junction for a week. Kennedy and I got to hang-out everyday without the girls driving me crazy. It was really nice to have that time with my little girl. Russ and I then drove to Grand Junction the next Friday to get the girls, introduce Kennedy to the rest of the Moses family, and get pictures taken.  Now, we have been home as a family of 5, this past week and it has been fun. I'm sure we will have lots of adjusting still to do. I am so grateful for this precious little girl, she brings so much happiness to our home.

San Francisco

In late February, Katie and I, had the awesome opportunity to go to San Francisco and get away before our babies came. We LOVE San Francisco, it is such a fun city with the best food. I don't think I would have that same thought about SF, if it wasn't for David and Natalie knowing the best places to eat. We REALLY like to eat good food in our family and this city does not disappoint! So yes, we went to San Francisco to see our little brother and his wife and to eat the weekend away and that is what we did!

We got a great deal on flights over to San Francisco. We did public transportation, which works pretty well over there. Katie and I, had backpacks with a weekends worth of clothing and essentials. I think we did pretty well, being in our 3rd trimester, walking all over the city.

David and Natalie were super nice and gave us their amazing bed for the weekend. We came in on a Friday late morning and got started right away. First stop, a worker-owned bakery, with amazing pizza.    I can't remember all of the details since it was 2 months ago, but it was such an awesome weekend and much needed break. We even got to stay an extra night, because of wonderful Denver weather.  Thank you David and Natalie for a fun weekend!! And a HUGE thank you to our wonderful husbands for watching the kids while we left for the weekend!

David and Natalie at Nopa-such a great place to have brunch. David made the reservation a month or two in advance! It is definitely a hot place to be. Oh and the hot chocolate is the BEST I have ever had. To.Die.For.

And what would a weekend of Kershaw's being together, without some Canasta. It had been awhile, since I have been able to play. Kids don't make card games very easy.

Christmas!!

Well, I figure it is about time to get caught up on the ol' blog.  Baby girl is coming in less then 3 days...eek!! My goal all along has been to catch up before she comes, so that I can post some adorable pictures of the new addition. So, here we go!

Christmas this year was with my family.  David and Natalie came into town from San Francisco, their flight got canceled and so a few days later than they were planning, they were able to join us.  We always love having them around! We did all of the celebrating at Katie's house, she was so good to have us all over for a few days. We had a fun time, with lots of memories!! The kids of course were all spoiled from Santa, grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles, etc.

Here are the girls in their Christmas dresses from Grandma Moses. Such pretty little girls.

This was a few days before Christmas, we opened presents from the Moses family. The girls got some awesome make-up cases, they were of course in love with them.

She got some "homework" books from Ray and Ethan. These kept her busy for hours at a time for the next month....not kidding!!

Thanksgiving 2012

We went to Grand Junction to be with Russ' family for Thanksgiving this past year. As always, we had a great time with lots of fun memories! The only pictures that I took were of the girls "making pies," my mother-in-law always does the pies for Thanksgiving and so this year the girls wanted to help. They were VERY into making their own pies. It was a nice distraction for them, but a big mess to clean up. Don't mind the orphan  children, their hair may have been neglected a bit at times during this trip.

Grandma bought some stuff you put in the bath, to make it a "squishy bath."  Lindsey loved it, but as you can tell Taylor wasn't too fond of it. It really did make the bath pretty funky.
