Quotable Quote

" I bend to sweep crumbs and I bend to wipe vomit and I bend to pick up
little ones and wipe away tears... And at the end of these days I bend next to
the bed and I ask only that I could bend more, bend lower. Because I serve a
Savior who came to be a servant. He lived bent low. And bent down here is where I see His face. And people say, “Don’t you get tired?” and yes, I do. But I’m face to face with Jesus in the dirt, and the more I bend the harder and better and fuller this life gets. And sure, we are tired, but oh we are happy. Because bent down low is where we find fullness
of Joy.” ― Katie J.Davis

Belated Mother's Day

So I decided not to carry on in this post about how great my mother's day was, because frankly it wasn't that great! ha ha. It was ok. I mean it was fabulous as far as feeling grateful to be a mother and have healthy children and to stop and remember how much my own mother has sacrificed for her children. But as far as gifts and celebrating go....not so much! And that's ok. I feel like we just have so many holidays to spend money on it is ridiculous! And does all that stuff really matter?

So the real reason for this post is to journal what's been on my mind about the Savior. The other night we were reading a scripture story to the kids about Christ's crucifixion and got to the part (John 19: 25-27) where the Savior is on the cross and turns to John and tells him to take care of Mary his mother. I was really touched by that simple act of selflessness. I made a point to explain to the girls that even though Jesus was in horrifying agony he still made a point to make sure his mother was taken care of when he died! What a great example to each one of us. If you think about it each one of us is pretty selfish. When I am in pain all I can think about is me me me. I am so grateful for the Savior's perfect example of compassion and kindness. I am so grateful for the knowledge that I have of Jesus Christ. Image

Dance Festival 2010

Gracie's school had their dance festival on May 26th. It was long, but I was glad I was there just so Gracie knew we supported her. Ryan tells me 1/2 hour before that I should have let him know and he could have gotten off work. Well I didn't know that so I was left to haul the chairs and children in by myself.

Truthfully, I would rather not have the thoughts of dance festivals looming in my future for the next oh 12 years or so, but that's life!Image

Flashback Friday

Not the best quality pic. This is Ryan and I (and Gracie in utero) on a camping trip to Bear River Lodge. We went with my brother Jesse and his wife. Ryan looks young huh? I look like I just rolled out of bed....same as today! Glad nothing's changed...I hate change! ;-)Image

Flashback Friday

Better late than never.
As much as I miss my own house I really enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains from my in-laws deck. It is much better than sitting at our own home and watching the ugly St. Bernard that lives behind us take a crap while we try and eat dinner! Happened too many times to count! And of course this is considered a "flashback" because it was taken a week or so ago...hey that counts!Image

My Latest Project

I don't know if this can actually be classified as a project....maybe an idea. I bought this cute dress for 15 bucks at Rod Works and hung all the girls hair bows on it. I hung them on front and back. It is a much cuter way to store them than the bow keeper I had them on before. Rod Works is my favorite home decorating store. LOVE IT!Image

Gracie's idea of "Heven."

Gracie drew me this pic the other day. She said the blue is a waterfall and the three people are Heavenly Mother, Jesus, and Heavenly Father. Melt my heart! She is getting good at sounding out words. Image

Flashback Friday

I've been seeing this pic over the last couple of weeks. It is Breck at the hospital. I love it cause of course I think he is so cute and I am in the newborn spirit lately! Seeing Saige's pics yesterday put me in mind of it again. Every mom thinks their baby is the cutest. I remember thinking Breck was SO SO cute when he arrived! I still do!Image

DL Part 2

I had visions of posting a bunch of pics on my blog, BUT it is 10 million times faster to upload them onto Facebook. So if you want to see them you will have to head over to FB and look me up.

We had such a great time in DL. The kids got into the whole trading pins thing and I loved watching them get out of their comfort zones to trade their pins (sometimes downgrading, but that's life). After Ryan's confession of love for Jasmine's tight abs I traded one of my pins for a Miss Piggy pin just to make myself feel better. :-(

Highlights:
1. The weather.
2. Gracie getting soaked on Grizzly River.
3. Breck LOVING the Pooh Bear ride.
4. Eating out.
5. Our hotel in Vegas.....WAY nice!
6. Bonding together and just having an awesome time making memories.

Low lights:
1. The D...R...I...V...E.
2. Ryan and I arguing over directions. Poor Shaylee.
3. The kids arguing over pushing buttons in the elevator etc... etc... etc...
4. Waiting in line for 40+ minutes to see Tinkerbell (who turned out to have a fake smile and be not as cute as I pictured).
5. Getting stopped at the top of the Mickey ferris wheel on a very windy day with the biggest acrophobic in the world......yours truly!!! I've never wanted to touch ground so bad in my life.
6. Eating out.....prices were out of this world!Image

DL Part 1

Image Not sure who the lady in the back is, but look at the sheer horror on Gracie's face! You might have to click on it to get a closer look. Shaylee (niece) is behind Gracie. Ava says she was screaming, but she looks to be having a good time!
