Emmie's 2 Week Pictures

As you can see by the header, we had Emmie's two week pictures made. Most of you know that I take my girls to have pictures made at 2 weeks old while they are still wrinkly and curl up like little bowling balls! We used Keri Kay Photography and she did such an amazing job!! There are so many precious shots of the girls that she took. Of course, I think my very favorites are the shots of Justin, Lainie and Emmie. He is such a good daddy and the girls adore him, especially Lainie! I am sure Emmie will be a "Daddy's girl" too as she grows! I am going to post a few, but I don't want to spoil the pictures I am using on Emmie's announcement, so I am keeping a few as a secret! :)











This picture is for Chip and Shannon Rumage, who sent her this tutu. We tried to get pictures of her in this PRECIOUS tutu, but it was the end of the session and she was melting down. I still love the picture! We will be taking her back with the tutu again next time so I can get a happier shot! :)

Sweet Dreams

Guess who slept through the night last night!! Emmie slept from 11:00 last night to 7:00 this morning. She woke up to eat at 7 and then went back to sleep and slept until 9:30! Woohoo!!! Now, I really do not believe this will be happening on a consistent basis yet, but I will take one night of uninterrupted sleep! I really cannot complain at all because if she does wake up, it is only once a night anyways. My sweet girls spoil me in that regard.

Emmie's 1st Week Home

It is hard to believe how quickly time goes by once your baby arrives! We are doing really well around here, but seem to stay super busy. Emmie is such a sweet baby so far, and we hope that she continues to stay that way. :) She is still a great sleeper as she only wakes up once a night to eat. I have to believe that being a big baby has something to do with that!

Emmie went to the doctor last Friday for a weight check and had lost down to 8 pounds, 5 ounces. We went back the following Wednesday and she weighed in at 8 pounds, 10 ounces. The doctor said she was gaining weight just as she should and thought she looked great. We won't have to go back again until she is one month old.

Lainie is doing so well and is such a great big sister. She loves to look at Emmie and touch her toes, pat her head, etc. She is sure to tell me every time Emmie has the "make-ups" which is her word for hiccups.....too cute! She is so precious and just is being such a trooper as we adjust to having two little ones. She loves coloring, playing with play-doh, going on walks, and has recently discovered sidewalk chalk. She loves arts and crafts!

Emmie Going Home

Emmie got all dressed up for her homecoming. My mom made a BEAUTIFUL smocked gown and bonnet for her to come home in. Everyone in the hospital had a fit over it. She is SO talented and has made several things for my girls that I know they will treasure as they get older. Thank you to Gramma for a beautiful gown for Emmie!

Emmie Meets Her Family

Emmie is such a blessing to all of us! It is amazing how much you can love someone. She just fits perfectly into our family and we are enjoying every second we get to spend with her. She really is a very sweet baby and a good sleeper too! :) I fed her last night at 10:30 before we went to sleep. She woke up at 2:15 a.m. to eat, and then I had to wake her up at 7:15 a.m. to feed her again. I couldn't ask for more out of my girl!

As most of you saw on my sister's blog, I ended up going into labor on Monday afternoon, during my pedicure no less! I have to say that was the most uncomfortable pedicure I have ever had, but I wanted to make sure my toes looked good for surgery. We got to the hospital later that night and she was born at 12:21 a.m. on July 8. The funny thing was we were right down the hall from Sunday Rose Kidman Urban! WOW!! There were security guards blocking the hallway they were on, but Emmie was definitely born where the stars are! HA!
