Little Lovebugs

We sure love these sweet little girls. Lainie seems to be making us laugh more and more everyday. Some of the things she says are hilarious, and others are just downright precious. I honestly wish I could record her all the time to catch it all on camera because I can never remember it all. Whenever she gets a gift, colors a picture, looks at Emmie or is shopping with me, she will say, "oh, that is beautiful!" or "awww, that's so sweet." She will also put her stuffed animals in time out and say, "do you hear me?" after she tells them what they did wrong.

Lainie has definitely figured out that she has her daddy completely wrapped! She wanted to watch Mickey Mouse the other night, so she called her daddy up to the bonus room and said "chair" as she patted the couch, which means sit down next to her. Once he sat down, she put her head on his shoulder and gave him a big hug and said,"Mickey Mouse, please!" WRAPPED!!! It is bad!

Emmie is coming out of her shell more and more everyday. I think she discovered that she has a voice today! She has been talking non-stop all day long. I had a dentist appt. today and all the ladies in the office were laughing at her as she just jabbered away. She will start out with a real soft "hoo, hoo!" She sounds like an owl, but then she starts getting louder and louder until she is practically yelling. It is so funny!

Here are a few sweet pics of the girls:

Who Invented Rice Cereal?

Well, word on the street is that when you turn four months old, you get to try rice cereal! Unfortunately, Emmie is not very fond of that idea. We tried rice cereal for the first time this week, and to say she hates it is an understatement! She gags and cries the entire time I try and feed it to her. I have tried giving it to her before her nighttime bottle, after the bottle, with the bottle....it does not matter! She HATES the stuff, and I think she told me she wanted to ban it from the house immediately. Let's hope she is more fond of baby food when her 6-month birthday rolls around!

Um, what is the camera for and WHAT is that white stuff in that bowl you have?

Is this some sort of joke...throw the girl some milk, would ya?

Oh my gosh, I am DYING here......what in the world is this?

Ugh, I'd rather eat cardboard....this is disgusting!!

Happy 4 Months to Emmie!

Emmie is now 4 months old and is such a joy! She talks and coos all the time. She smiles and laughs alot and is such a content baby. We have been blessed! She loves her bouncy seat and will now play with her toys on the play mat. She also loves to watch sports on tv. I think football might be her favorite, but her Daddy claims she likes Nascar. Ugh! Do you think I will have at least one prissy girl between the two of them?

We went to her 4-month doctor's appointment yesterday and she got great reviews. Unfortunately, Lainie was very sweet to share her cold with Emmie and both ended up being diagnosed with double ear infections. They are both on antibiotics for 10 days, so we hope they will feel better soon. Emmie has been a champ through it all....continues to eat, smile, and sleep through the night. Lainie has had a rough time with it all, but her ears were BAD. Poor thing. I feel so sorry for both girls. The only good thing that came out of it all was we escaped shots! We will go back for a re-check in two weeks and Emmie will get her shots then as long as she is well.

Here are some pictures taken of Emmie on her 4-month birthday. She is growing up so quickly. She seems to be adding more and more weight to those cheeks every day. :) Her stats were:

Weight: 14 pounds, 1 ounce - 60th percentile
Height: 25 3/4 inches - 90th percentile

A Little Less Pink

I have tried and tried to like the hot pink curtains in Emmie's nursery and I just couldn't make myself get there! I thought they would be really cute and pull out the hot pink in her bedding, but it was just TOO much pink for me and didn't look like a baby's nursery. I decided that I needed some change, so I went and picked out some sheer white curtains. They seem to make her nursery look more like a baby and fit her personality better! :) I changed her cover on the changing table to a light pink cover as well. I am thinking I might need to change the little rug as well....not sure! Here is the before and after picks (with the rug). Let me know what you think.

Lainie's Big Girl Room

Lainie Bug moved into her "big girl bed" a few weeks ago and has done amazingly well with it. She has never tried to get out of it and never fights bedtime or naptime. I think she was ready to move out of the crib. Although it made Mommy very sad to make the transition, she looks pretty cute all curled up in her big bed.

Have I mentioned that girlfriend has a fear of tutus? No? Well, she does and everytime I see Raylin in a cute little number, I get a little jealous! :) We realized this after Emmie was born and we got the CUTEST tutu in the mail for Lainie from Chip and Shannon. Never fear Shannon, I am determined to get a cute picture of her in it at some point. Surely, this fear will pass. In the meantime, I decided that she has to have a tutu somehow, so I bought her a bedskirt that looks like a tutu. We now have a ballerina bed! :)

Here are a few pics of her new room!

Big Thanks to Laura Claire!

Lainie was very lucky to have such a cute ladybug costume this year thanks to our sweet friend, Laura Claire. We loved her costume and were so excited to be able to wear it. We were so surprised to get a big box of clothes in the mail this week from Les and LC. Lainie loved going through them, but instantly found a favorite thing! LC was so sweet to give Lainie a witch's hat that was perfect! Lainie has been watching Mickey's Treat and has seen Minnie dressed up as a witch. She was thrilled to have a hat like Minnie's and has worn it around the house alot! It went perfectly with the little Halloween outfit that she was wearing that day! Thanks Laura Claire and Les for all of our goodies! We loved them!

Happy Halloween!

Poor little Lainie Bug woke up from her nap on Halloween with fever. She was not feeling well all day, but seemed to start perking up that night. We decided to let her dress up and just walked to a few houses on our street. Unfortunately, she was not all too thrilled with the whole idea of Halloween. Justin walked outside with her to start handing out candy and ran back inside to put the camera up. As he went inside, some trick or treaters with scary masks on ran up to our front porch and yelled "Trick or Treat!!" Lainie started SCREAMING and backed up against the door. She was scared to death the remainder of the night and would not let Justin put her down. Needless to say, Halloween wasn't all it is cracked up to be this year! :)

This is what our night consisted of when Justin wasn't holding her

October Fun

Last weekend, we all went to the Nashville Zoo for a little Halloween event that they had. They had games, a hayride, a maze, etc. We went with the Follis family, the Shacklefords, and the Lagraizes. All the kids had lots of fun! Saturday, Justin took Lainie to Pumpkinfest with our friends and Lainie had her first experience riding a pony! She was a little scared at first, but ended up liking it the longer she rode. Mommy was sick with a terrible sinus infection, so Emmie and I stayed home and missed out on all the fun. Justin didn't take the camera (GASP!) to get pictures, so I only have some from the zoo.
