Oh Santa, How We Love Thee!

Santa Claus Visit 2010

Santa visit 2010....the one where Lainie showed off a little more to Santa and the camera than we had hoped, Emmie caused hearing loss in Santa's left ear with her ear piercing scream, and Ellie actually demonstrated what she wanted for Christmas when she tried to latch on to Santa's big, red suit.

Christmas Program

Lainie and Emmie had their preschool Christmas program on Wednesday. They both did so well and were so cute up on stage! I always love to watch them sing their little hearts out. Emmie's class sang "Mary Had A Baby Boy" and Lainie's class sang "Twelve Little Angels." They ended the program with all the classes singing "Joy To The World" and "We Wish You A Merry Christmas." It was so cute!

Happy 2 Months to Ellie!!!

Well, Happy 2 Months yesterday anyways! :) Ellie Belle, I cannot believe you are 2 months old. I know I say that about every birthday post that I write, but these last two months have flown by! I feel like I should just be driving home from the hospital.

Here is what our little peanut has been up to lately:
* Ellie is just the sweetest little thing. She loves to smile and will just wait for someone to talk to her so she can give them a big grin! I haven't gotten a picture of her biggest smile yet, but here are a few of her smiling at me last night.
Image
Image
* Ellie is still nursing about every 3 hours and is waking up once a night to eat. I usually feed her around 10:30, and then she wakes up around 3:00 a.m. She will usually go back to sleep and wake up for the day around 6:30 or 7:00 in the morning.
* She is wearing newborn diapers still, but I will probably start buying size 1 diapers after I use the newborn diapers that we have. I have been putting it off as long as possible because I don't want to accept the fact that she isn't a newborn anymore. Ha!
Image
* Miss Priss is wearing some newborn clothes, but mostly 0-3 month or 3 month clothes. She is getting long and starting to grow some rolls on those little legs. Love those rolls! :)
* Poor baby is as bald as can be! She is following in Lainie's footsteps. She will probably be bald until she is 3. She has a tiny bit of hair at the very back of her head, but that is about it.
Image
* Ellie loves her baths. She will just lay in the bathtub and kick her feet while listening to me talk to her. She loves the warm water!
* One of her very favorite things is her swing. She takes all of her naps during the day in her swing. Emmie was the same way. Both girls absolutely loved to swing and sleep the day away!
* She loves to lay and look at the Christmas lights on the mantle and tree, and also loves to look at the ceiling fan. She is very observant and is always looking around while bobbing that head all over the place.
Image
* Ellie is a little snuggle bug which I love! She loves to be snuggled and will sit with me as long as I am willing to hold her. I still swaddle her at night to sleep and she loves it.
* She is still sleeping in Mommy and Daddy's room in her pack-n-play. I am not sure how long she will be in there with us. I can tell you that I already am dreading the move to her nursery. Knowing she is my last baby is making these transitions very hard. Mommy needs to work on that!
Image
* I am not sure what her weight and length is right now. We were supposed to go to the doctor this morning for her well visit, but Lainie and Emmie's Christmas program got moved to this morning because of the snow. We rescheduled it for January.
* That's right...Ellie had her first snow experience this week! Well, she experienced it from the inside of our house anyways!

Ellie, we just love you so much! You have brought so much joy into our home. Your sisters absolutely adore you! They love to get down on the floor and talk to you. You are still adjusting to having a 4 year old and 2 year old in your face, but you seem to handle it as well as possible! :) We love to snuggle you, love on you, kiss your sweet cheeks, and see you smile. You are just precious, sweet girl!

Lately

We have been staying so busy around here lately. When people ask how having 3 children is, I always tell them it isn't necessarily hard, it is just BUSY! I literally always have something I need to be doing.

The girls are doing so well. Lainie and Emmie are still loving having a baby sister. They love to take care of her, talk to her, love on her, etc. Miss Ellie is never lacking in the "getting attention" category. She is well loved to say the least!
Image
Lainie is LOVING school this year. She is really starting to act like such a little girl instead of a toddler. She is busy learning songs for her Christmas program next weekend and loves to practice. She also loves to count and always asks me to count with her. As I was sitting in the den yesterday, I overheard her up in the bonus room saying The Pledge of Allegiance. She said it word for word. I was so impressed! I had no idea she even knew it....impressive! She is such a sponge these days and is always learning something new. Unfortunately, she is also becoming Little Miss Bossy too. Whew! Poor Emmie....she gets the brunt of Lainie's bossiness and desire to be an authority figure. She is constantly telling Emmie what to do, counting 1.2.3 and then putting her in time out if Em doesn't do what she wants her to do. We are working on that! :) It makes it harder to explain to her that she is not the mommy when Emmie actually listens to her and goes to time out when Lainie tells her to. Lainie loves to say the blessing at dinner and always sings "God Our Father." She is always so proud of herself as she sings. Lainie is about as picky as they come when eating. Her very favorite food is fruit. She will also eat pizza, spaghetti, yogurt, sunbutter and jelly sandwiches, tacos, salad, mac and cheese, baby carrots, veggie nuggets and loves salsa.

Emmie is just our little love bug! She still loves to be snuggled and loved on, which makes me so happy. She is always making us laugh. She is just so cute and has the sweetest little personality. She is also loving school and is busy learning songs for her Christmas program. It melts my heart when she sings "Joy To The World." She also loves to sing "Twinkle, Twinkle," "The B-I-B-L-E" and "The Itsy Bitsy Spider." Emmie loves books and always wants to read. She is definitely the one who loves having a baby sister the most. She is such a little nurturer and loves to take care of any baby or baby doll she can find. She truly has a such a sweet heart. I don't know if anyone has noticed, but she also decided to finally let go of the pacifier. She went without it one night, and was pacifier free after that. Whenever she would ask for one, Justin and I would just tell her it went bye bye. She was fine with that answer, and has been great about it since! Awesome! Emmie is our little eater, and will eat anything we give her. The more "adult" the food is, the better she eats it. She loves vegetable beef soup, chili, spaghetti, tacos or taco salad, guacamole, green beans, peas, baby carrots, veggie nuggets, mac and cheese, fruit, yogurt, and on and on!! She is definitely not our picky child. However, as strange as it it, the child will not eat bread! She definitely doesn't take after her Mommy with this!

Ellie is just as sweet as ever! I will give her little update on her 2 month post. Just wanted to do a little update about the girls as a reminder to me more than anything!
